Rafa untimely cheater manuvers

I was just going to say that the Nadal (and Serena) didn't further tarnish his legacy of sportsmanship (or lack thereof) with anything to do with the SF. I love a good denadalisation as much as the next devotee but he seemed, by his standards, to be behaving. I forgot how much I hated the time wasting, watching a match live for the first time in a while.

I don't, but if he is willing to do that in public and just for a tennis match, I'm afraid what he might do. I'm using the evidence from tennis, that's all we have. But this is generally the case, always when I saw people do small stuff, it always lead to big stuff.
Not really. Even if I assume that what you say is true, in a situation of that sort I would think that Rafa would be the one who will never give up and try to find a way to get out of the situation or die fighting. That's how he is. He never gives up and that single quality of his made me a fan. I would also think that Rafa will learn to adapt to the trench conditions just like he learnt to adapt to play on other courts. It's just that you and I see different qualities in the same man. Granted that his pre serve rituals are annoying and I, despite being a fan am not blind to them and I believe that he can do better on that front but I don't see a vile man. I see a man who is hugely protective of his family and friends, knows how to disconnect outside of tennis and a man who refuses to say no in the face of adversity.

Or that could mean, he would never give up when stabbing me in the back, which makes him even more dangerous. He is fighting for himself in tennis, not for others, that's the difference, I don't feel he would care about me and fight for me the way he does for himself. A lot of dictators have great mental toughness and they never give up. If it's channeled the wrong way, it's even worse.

Who in tennis is playing for another? My point is simple. We do not know any of these guys personally. They all have acted not so gracefully on occasions in their long careers. Yes, I can quote examples of other fine characters too but I don't want to go on a mudslinging campaign here. If you are set upon thinking that Rafa can be a dangerous friend and perhaps you are right about it, neither you nor I have any way to prove or disprove it.

This is obvious imo. Remembering how he talked about being in the bathroom during the 2011 USO final thinking he can't win, etc. Nothing wrong with gathering your thoughts during a huge match and trying to figure out what you can do instead of sitting there on court not able to think straight. Has nothing to do with trying to "bother" Federer, people are so silly.
Potty break is OK. Sitting down while the stadium is waiting for the match to resume is outright stalling and the chair should have given him a warning for it but these wimps are scared after his ridiculous treatment of a solid chair umpire in Rio a few years back. The Mallorcan Mafia gets away with this “I am bigger than the sport” attitude once again.

I dare you to name one other player that continually stretches the boundaries of fair play than Nadal.

Of course I can prove it. When I break the rules on the road, the speed limit, that also extrapolates to other parts of my life and I see it's like this for everyone. It's common sense. That's why if you are too religious same kind of reasoning eventually creeps in other areas of your life.

But, ok let's just limit ourselves to tennis, I agree. Still Nadal breaks tons more rules than Federer, it's just a fact, are you denying facts?

And this is bothering me people doing it before Federer and Nadal and in other sports too, and when people do that to me when they play me, I hate that too. What, do you let your friends pull this kind of stuff to you, I don't.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Mahut get hit 4 times by Cabal today? :-D:-D:-D

And this is the reason why so many people including Nadal aren't rooting for him, it has nothing to do with bias or with Federer. Usually when other young contenders in other sports come, I root for them, because they don't pull this stuff.

Why don't we have this discussons in table tennis? Because non of the greats pulled this kind of stuff.

Stop with the excuses. I help tons of people too and do a lot of charity, that doesn't make me a good person. When the chips are down, I'm still weak and I will probably do some bad things. It's under pressure when it shows what you are. Yeah, when things are ok in Rafa's perfect life, he is fine, like me, which is 99,99% of the time. But if we are alone in the forrest starving me and Rafa will probably stab you in the back. You and Fed will probably won't do that, that's the difference.

Yeah, Rafa is great, but I wouldn't want him in the trenches if there is war with me.
What did I just read?:-D
Are you out of your mind?

Meh. Rafa's time wasting strategies. What else is new?
Happy that Fed kept his cool till the end of the match.

Nadal isn't rooting for himself? Have your coffee, ffs. You're in an acerbic mood this morning. It's the Wimbledon final. Cheer up.

It is fair play, especially in doubles, to strike a ball in the direction of an opposing player. You’re trying to compare apples to oranges there.

To be fair to Cabal, the first one I saw was a smash that bounced before it hit Mahut in the noggin and Mahut moved into the path of the ball. I saw the one that struck him in the manhood area and that’s unfortunate but still fair play as any good player knows to aim at the player’s forehand hip to handcuff him. That it was off by a few inches is understandable at the speed they’re playing the game. Also, that’s just one match you’re referring to. Nadal has stalled from his first days on the tour, time and time again. That’s gamesmanship.

I also doubt the motivation of his fans who try to defend that stuff. All my friends who are Nadal fans, none of them defends this stuff, they just love his game. I would never trust a person who defends this stuff.

Well, he wasn't cool about it in the past, he was often calling him on it. He just now saw that it's no use since that won't change anything. It won't stop Nadal or ATP. Even last years, Fed is still saying a lot of people are doing this to him with time wasting. He just lately never mentions RAfa by name, but he mentioned RAfa by name in the past.

But it is within the rules...
I wonder what his fans who defend him are pulling in real life. I would never trust them. This means Micheal Nadal would use gamesmanship against me too and would think it's fine. See, him and Nadal act like angels, those are exact kind of people that dissapoint in real life.

AT least Fed isn't pretending to be this good person, he often says he did bad stuff. I trust flawed individuals a lot more than people acting to be pure.

Bro we are all flawed, which is why this whole thread is so hilarious.

Nadal does whatever he can within the rules to break his opponents rhyme. The gamesmanship is annoying but Federer won so I can live with it this time ;)

There’s a lot of truth to the sentiment.

I’d put it a bit differently, of course.

But that’s the essence of it: there’s a basic contradiction in rationalizing unsporting behavior.

They have no choice but to eat crow now. But we don’t forget. :)

Omg yall are ALMOST making me wanna root for Novak :D
He also seems fake to me, I don't trust him either. I trust Murray and Fed with my life though.
Heck I trust even STan more. STan will stab me too, but at least he will come like a man from the front, so there is that. I think Nole is too religious/spiritual, I don't trust those kind of people.

Quit it @JackGates .
Why does it seem like you start a mission everytime Fed plays a match 'for all the marbles'? I remeber your meltdown last FO semi. We hardly see you any other times.

There was nothing for him to not be cool about! :D
Oh come on dude. Halting the last service game of the match to check a blister and tie shoe laces? I think some players would be pissed off. It's just that Fed's become used to it by now.

Isn't this good that I only show twice a year when high profile match is played? What's the point of being here all the time and argue the same things. Yeah, twice a year it's fun and healthy.
So, I don't see why this is a problem for you.

And I didn't start the thread, I'm just responding. My only threads are goat threads, they are never to personally attack someone. But, the problem here is not just this match, it's Nadal compared to others doing this stuff all the freaking time.

Seems your main problem is that I'm not as screwed up as you who is here all the time.

Come on nothing, how in the heck does that change what happens in the game? If I was serious about winning id tie my shoes tighter too. Clearly YOU guys get uptight about every little thing Rafa does, and you project that Federer does too. When you're one of the best players in the history of the sport as they both are, someone tying shoes is not an issue. Sheesh :D

I wonder what crimes you have done in life or planning to do since you are defending Nadal so much. I'm a bit glad, that I don't know you.

Sorry, but I don't listen to music that promotes crime and violence like rap. Another tell from you.
I mean I do appreciate the art in rap, but the message is terrible.
