Finally, a wax figure that looks real.
Best one I've seen but I don't get why they narrowed his nose so much, reminds me of those Armani ads.
Too bad they used the 2012 AO outfit....
Wow, that's a pretty good effort. Compare it to the awful wax figure they made of Djoko
It's like they were mocking Novak or something.
Still, I think something is off with the face on Nadal's wax statue. It could be that they square-jawed him too much, from a certain angle he looks a bit like Ferrer.
Wow, that Djokovic wax figure is disgracefully done. It's like they couldn't be bothered.
Wax statues are creepy as hell. But they did a nice job, it does look like him. However, it kind of looks like he's preparing to hit a one hand backhand...
Madame Tussauds is a famous museum while Novak's figure was made in Serbia.
I dunno, there is something missing about this wax figure. It doesn't quite convey the character. Could it be....
...could it be?
That one turned out really good!!
His hair looks too thick because it's dry and Rafa's hair is never dry when he steps on the court.
well, then they should have hired somone from Madame Tussauds to do it or something. I mean, it's their national hero and this is the best they could do?
It would be cool if they made one of Federer as well.
Why aint there one of the Son of God??? I mean seriously, this is sending the wrong message to our children.
Gotta admit though, they did a fantastic job on it, looks SO real.
Wow ! That one came out real good. Makes him look better and younger than he actually is in person
And honester and humbler than he really is, too
This shot, you could fool anyone into thinking is just a picture of the real Nadal.
Pretty decent job, considering most wax figures look just terrible.
I guess the figure is the only one wasting more time than the real thing. LOL.
I guess some people just make better models for wax dummies.
Nah ! Actually he is incomplete without the trademark snarl , I don't ever remember seeing Nadal on a court with an expression like in that wax figure. I am sure it is too Federeresque for the liking of true Nadal fans - lacks the passion and energy that is characteristic of Nadal.
Hit the nail on the head, I too think the face is a bit too "smooth",more federesque than Ralph.
It lacks the focus and it's not the same position but pretty close...
It is missing the butt pick
You can easily tell the wax figure is fake although Djokovic's far worse.
I wonder if Rafa will bite his wax figure for some promo pictures! lol
That's because it doesn't have the antisoul or whatever that thing is that demons have instead of soul.
Looking at the stands at Uncle Toni waiting for a signal
This is actually Nadal's PR agent trying to tell him something during the Rome final when Noel broke him.
Can't make out since I don't know Spanish.
These photos are historical - real cortex and paintjob-ed Nadal! Vamos!
The bland facial expression is plausible if he's playing an unrushed backhand slice/drop-shot which requires finesse and not physical exertion. But I agree its not a typical Nadal facial expression, so it was a poor choice.
It's too smooth, but it's still by far the best tennis wax figure I've seen. One of those photos could be mistaken for the real thing.
Djokovic and Murray's look appalling by comparison.
No, you can't easily tell the wax figure is fake. It's probably the best wax figure I've ever seen. If you (or anybody else) saw that picture in a report about a match, you wouldn't think twice.
The Djokovic wax figure on the other hand... It looks like he had makeup for a drag performance and then he started having kidney failure. And the pose looks like he just finished doing a Dr. Evil impression and he's waiting for Dr. Igor to blow him a kiss from the audience. It looks horrible.
This one is in Amsterdam. Looks almost the same.
Are we certain this is not just Nadal racking in some extra cash?
Good wax figure but doesn't convey the energy and power of Rafa if you know what I mean. I'd rather he be hitting his trademark topspin forehand and showing exertion rather than hitting a ho-hum slice shot. We need more emotion displayed in these wax figures.
Yeah it's the chin that gives it away for me (that and me knowing it's wax obvs). If I cover that up so I can see his nose upwards it's uncanny.
I wonder what the racquet specs are PJ?
Am I the only one that wouldn't mind having this in my house?
I'm sure there are a few on here who would fight you for it, and by fight, I mean kill.
It's one of the best wax figures I've seen, though it's eyes have got something Federer about them.
can we use it as a voodoo doll ?
i brought my toolbox...
(not sure if this should have been posted in the "Other Equipment" section)
Serena's wax figurine's face looks live a cavewoman.
For once, I agree with you. It's really good, but there is something missing: the energy!
