Rafael Nadal adds another tournament to his schedule

And has been injured since early 90s. Nadal has literally played 40%(!) of all his matches on clay and clay has <25% of tour matches only. You can see where the bias comes from.
That has absolutely nothing to do with the lack of non-clay meetings in recent years. That’s just a poor attempt at deflecting.

Funny how Nadal is the one "avoiding his rivals", when he was reaching Djokovic (and basically giving him free wins) so many times in 2014-2016, in the worst period of his career. Please remind me how many times did Djokovic reach Nadal and Federer in 2017 and early 2018.

mahatma is a troll. You can’t expect to have a tennis discussion with him like you can with the serious Djokovic fans.

Nadal's value is rising as he gets nearer to the end of his career. Dubai is forking out a lot of money to bring him over as he's guaranteed to sell out the arena when he plays.

I don't really like this decision. I think he should have skipped playing anything until IW. Dubai is too fast for him and he will get slaughtered there.
Nadal does not fail on fast courts. In fact, fast and lively courts are where he produces some of his best tennis. What Rafa does not succeed on, are dead courts, be it slow or fast.

Would've loved to see Djokovic have another win against Nadal, but unfortunately Nadal decided to preserve his h2h instead because he knows he will receive another beatdown on hard courts.
Djokovic doesn't run away from his rivals and he's not afraid of anyone.

It's the other way around. Rafa announced already almost 2.5 months ago (in a video) that he won't participate in the 2023 Acapulco tournament. But I couldn't find any info about Djoko's participation in the 2023 Acapulco tournament on its website & social media.

Its not Novaks fault his slump was much shorter than Rafa's.

It wasn't shorter, leave alone much shorter. Still, my point is that during his slump Djokovic made sure to avoid reaching Nadal and Federer, while they were reaching him during their slumps.

Exactly! He hid from them to avoid losing to them.

Nadal always fronted up to Djok... in 2011 when he was getting beat 6-0... he fronted up in 2012 and nearly beat peak Djok at his best slam, then went on to win the next 4 slam encounters after having lost the previous 3...

Then in 2015/16 he met Djok another 7 times...

How many encounters in 2017? ONE... in Madrid...

Even in 2010 he avoided Nadal for the most part... losing to Meltzer and Berdych the round before at the slams...
