Having had virtually the same injury (iliopsoas grade 2 tear, though presumably not in the exact same spot) in the past I always felt 6-8 weeks was an ambitious recovery time.

Granted I was a good bit older than Rafa when it happened, and don't have access to the kind of diagnosis and treatment facilities he has, but it was at least 8 weeks before I could stand up out of a chair without pain, let alone walk without pain, let alone think I had any hope in hell of playing tennis.

The dude is 36, The last few times he's played he's been soundly beaten by many players, some of which wouldn't touch him on even an average day. In 2020 he played Rome and then RG only, that is the closest he got to not playing a non RG clay tournament in the year.
