Rafael Nadal refuses to play doubles with Nick Kyrgios at charity event

Well that's a pretty strong insinuation.

Ah, let me guess: the usual "mto's, 'roids, uncle toni, topspin monkey" swipes? ;)

The guy exercised his right not to play with someone he considered to be a dirtbag; no need to go full-fedfanboi on his ass. Just sayin' .....

Really?

Nadal went there to play for charity.

It wasn't exactly Nadal's decision who to invite and who not to.

Making it about HIM shows that he WANTS to showcase, in which case, well, like I said, it IS hilarious.

You disagree, and that is fine by me, but even you have to admit that it is a bit of a douchey move. It shows that he has higher moral standarts than everybody, who is participating and didn't refuse to play Nick.

What would have happened, IF all other participants refused to play him?

Interesting. I've never seen Rafa take a firm stance like this. Perhaps he's still sore over his 2014 loss?:D

Do you have any sources to cite or any articles to make this more than hearsay?

I don't give a rat's ass if Nadal did it or not, it's his right to refuse to play with Kyrgios. What I find hilarious is how you can't see how utterly ridiculous your double standards are.

i'm going to give up now on trying to figure out your logic.

i'm a Nadal fan, yet I ridiculed him for a near meaningless action. how you find that to be hypocritical is bewildering o_O

Saying you're "mildly disappointed" is ridiculing someone now? :D Are you related to Forrest Gump?

This is the real reason (go to 0:55).

Rafa has his own issues with Kyrgios. What Kyrgios said at Wimbledon and somewhere else (yes, Kyrgios said this exact same thing not once but twice) must have been received as purely disrespectful gesture by Nadal. I think this is more of a personal thing.

I am surprised you are actually checking the facts here. Usually, you've never bothered to do so when ripping Federer for saying something he never said, but was put as an article title by some blogger/writer.
What the hell are you talking about? I very rarely post anything about Federer. Guess having facts bothered you.

Yeah. It may have flown under the radar, but Nick threw a bit of shade at Rafa with this antic. I don't think he intended to, but he did.

Yeah, it's best you do that.
how exactly am I being a hypocrite

I said i'm disappointed in Nadal's decision not to play with NK. if that's actually the case, seems like the reporting may have been incorrect.

I see no hypocrisy whatsoever! please enlighten me...
i'm MILDLY disappointed with his decision, if true ................VS..................so here's the naïve, canned, entitled, bourgeoisie, elitist, etcresponse from the almighty with a hint of racism/racial bias or at the very least condescending elitism

Yeah no hypocrisy there whatsoever

News just in, NK won't be at the US Open for long. Guess who he drew in R1 of the US Open? Andy Murray. Andy freakin Murray. NK better not unpack. :D

What if Dimitrov wins the US Open? I wouldn't bet on it, but...

You are giving Kyrgios '0' chance to beat Murray? I think on a given day, Kyrgios can beat him. He's already beaten Nadal(not this year's Nadal but Nadal of 2014 who won the FO) and Federer. He's getting better and better and Murray's consistency is not like Djokovic's. Dimitrov winning USO is, on the other hand, a really wild proposition. I cannot believe you even compare those two possibilities.

You have a pretty annoying attitude. Did anyone manage to tell you that before you ignored them?
Nope! :D

And what do you mean I have an annoying attitude? People should be prepared to receive as good as they give. I merely responded in the same vein as the original post. What's up your arse?

I dont blame Nadal. If I were a pro i'd want nothing to do with the guy either.

When a guy says things like that about fellow players (collegues) in public, why would you want to interact with that guy at all unless you absolutely cant avoid it

I actually don't mind Levi even though he ignored me. He's apparently a very sensitive individual.

Murray going to take out the **** in R1

See you in Australia biatch

Murray may win 3 sets to love with a bagel, but that doesn't mean Kyrgios has no chance at beating him. As I've mentioned already, on his day, I think Kyrgios can upset Murray.

The only person Nick is going to upset in New York is Inanimate_object.

If Nadal did this, then good on him. He can't be seen hanging around the likes of Kyrgios (until he cleans up his act that is). I would refuse too.

Nadal always has the balls to stand up for his principles, unlike a certain other elegant player who cares only about money.

Principles don't pay bills, and they don't do anything for people who suffered in concentration camps and such. (Using sureshsian logic !)
