Sure.. Nadal is playing his BEST tennis; did you even watch the Nadal-Delpo match

clueless , saying nadal is not playing mediocre is not equal to saying he is playing his best tennis . FYI, I did watch the nadal-delpo match, so ?

The truth is Nadal was solid in set 2 and set 3. Sure he cut down the UFEs a little. But he didn't raise his level dramatically or anything.

playing solid != playing medicore . Go and consult a dictionary for the meaning of mediocre.

Fact is rafa is playing pretty good tennis, though not quite at his best ( Speaking of which , what a pass , how the hell did he thread the needle on that one !? )

cut down on his UEs a 'little' ? He had 2 UEs in 16 games ( set 2 and set 3 ) !

Murray OTOH dipped massively. Looked like a different player from the set 1 Murray.

oh jeez, read my reply to GOAT BAAH , I said the same !

mediocre is a glass half empty word, solid a glass half full word. mediocre has negative connotations that solid does not.

Murray has given up from the look of that last dumped forehand. He has dropped to the level of pathetic, now. He played better in 2009 and 2010 here.

Disagree with John Lloyd that Rafa's playing better today than against Del Potro. He had to play a lot better against DP to win that match.

Andy will always have that first set.

He can go back to Dunblane a new man.

I found it funny how after that set a consensus arose between Murray fans and Nadal haters that Murray was dominating Nadal completely, when it was a very close set decided by one bad game. Speculations/forecasts were that Murray was then going to crush Nadal with his offensive game.

As I said back then: Yeah, right:wink:

Tune in Muzza's head,

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh, take me back to the start

Nadal is doing all the right things now. Some flashier than others, but always with the match well in hand. I'd definitely call that "playing great."

it's funny how nadal claimed to not be 100% earlier in the tournament. so much for his "injury". such a faker lmao

I gotta hand it to Nadal after that first set it looked like it was Murray's time to shine. Somewhere in that 3rd or 4th game in the second set Nadal changed the tide. Murray's forehand was on fire and it needed a slight dip to change his fortune too. Nadal tends to keep his level even throughout the span of a match while Murray can go up and down.
