Who's going to win this match?

The H2H is 4-3 in the favor of Nadal

Davydenko leads the hardcourt H2H 3-1 (Nadal's sole win coming in their only indoor match- in 2006 at the Master's Cup)

Don't forget that Nadal lost his first match in 2006 at the Master's Cup, also, but ended up beating Davydenko after that.

Davydenko is a real fighter. He is one of the most surprising players on tour. I still don't know how he copes with his amazonian opponents - he could get this. Come on Rafa get your plan in order and go for it

Davydenko has motivation and a better HC game,Rafa has no motivation,a bad/mediocre HC game and his mind is on DC rather than WTF.
Unfortunately,Davy should win this.

I voted with my heart, who says Davydenko in 2 sets, but my brain says Davydenko in 3 sets.

Call me lost in space, but I have a sense Nadal is not going to lose this one. Yes, Davydenko was very tough on him in Shanghai and kept hitting winners deep into alternating corners, running poor Rafa all over the court and right out of the match. But I thought Rafa played much more mechanically (OK, defensively) then as well as in the games he lost to Djokovic in Paris. He didn't seem to be using his wiles with those two. But Monday, with Soderling, it was different.

He lost, but his shots were much more varied. He actually had the darn match in his hands several times and blew it with that lack of concentration he calls "calm"...his UEs were higher than with the Djokovic match and some of those UEs came at especially bad times.

An improvement in his serve will make a great difference and will give him more confidence overall. While I'm not sure we're ready to see Ace Nadal out there with Davy (LOL!), I do think we're going to see a more aggressive match - and a three-set success - from Number 2.

You are really lost in space my friend!:)
Seriously, imo NOTHING indicates that Nadal will win this one, but still, maybe thats Nadal`s chance?

I believe at 2:15pm

Actually, I think it's at 8:45pm London time, as the match is 3:45pm in my area (EST) and we're five hours ahead of London.

But folks can check with ATP website or other places for the proper time to be sure.

Djokovic should pick up a spanish flag and come to cheer for Rafa tonight.
If Davydenko wins, then he'll probably beat Sod too.
And the result between Rafa and Djokovic won't matter. They will both be out.

It'd be a shame if a player of Nadal's caliber went 0-3 in this tournament, but based on the head-to-head and recent form, I'd be surprised if he beat Davydenko or Djokovic.

Davy in 2, probably.

I'm not so sure of a Davydenko victory despite Nadal's current form. In too many matches I've seen of Davydenko he ends up having some sort of 'problem'.

He should have beaten Djokovic in his first match here and found a way to lose the match. His mental problems with competing are sadly something I think he will never lose. Still doesnt mean he wont sometimes beat other top players and cant win match like this one though.

You guys seem to forget that Davy neither has a big serve, nor a plan B (i.e. coming in to the net). Obviously he'll have problems closing out big matches.

Lol,too true, ever since FO semi against Puerta that's been basically the story of Kolja's career.

That was really bad. It is one thing to miss chances to beat Federer or Nadal, but to blow a 5th set lead by choking to Mariana freaking Puerta.

Don't remind me lol,I was already a fan of him then(he was making his breakthrough that year)and I was so pissed after that match.

Why do you think they don't bow down to Nadal?

If Nadal loses, it's either because he was injured, exhausted, or the sun was in his eyes. No one bows down to him, because he is unbeatable anyways, and all his matches are tough fought victories, which he deserved.

Therefore, when anyone beats someone Nadal lost to, this means they "bowed down".

They just match-up badly against Federer, that's all.

I don't think so. To me, they go in with a beaten attitude, and even if they are making inroads, they either change their game or go away. For the most part, if you're talented you can sneak out an occasional win. 0-24 is ridiculous. No one is that good. Where they will both play controlled, aggressive tennis with other players, when it comes to Fed, they won't. That to me is the difference with guys like Simon. According to TT posters, he's a pusher. Yet, he takes his strengths, believes in them, and has taken a good amount of varied scalps.

Nadal is wayyyyyyy overrated by having one good (lucky) year in 2008.

Overrated ?? Lucky Year ??

Yea he did manage to luck out by beating the GOAT contender on clay and grass in 2008 and then earlier this year at Oz Open.

I wish I was that lucky.
