Don't forget that Nadal lost his first match in 2006 at the Master's Cup, also, but ended up beating Davydenko after that.
What time do they play, please? GCT (London time)?

I'm going out on a limb, here... Rafa in 3 sets
... which Rafa will show up?
Call me lost in space, but I have a sense Nadal is not going to lose this one. Yes, Davydenko was very tough on him in Shanghai and kept hitting winners deep into alternating corners, running poor Rafa all over the court and right out of the match. But I thought Rafa played much more mechanically (OK, defensively) then as well as in the games he lost to Djokovic in Paris. He didn't seem to be using his wiles with those two. But Monday, with Soderling, it was different.
He lost, but his shots were much more varied. He actually had the darn match in his hands several times and blew it with that lack of concentration he calls "calm"...his UEs were higher than with the Djokovic match and some of those UEs came at especially bad times.
An improvement in his serve will make a great difference and will give him more confidence overall. While I'm not sure we're ready to see Ace Nadal out there with Davy (LOL!), I do think we're going to see a more aggressive match - and a three-set success - from Number 2.
I believe at 2:15pm
Actually, I think it's at 8:45pm London time, as the match is 3:45pm in my area (EST) and we're five hours ahead of London.
But folks can check with ATP website or other places for the proper time to be sure.

I'm not so sure of a Davydenko victory despite Nadal's current form. In too many matches I've seen of Davydenko he ends up having some sort of 'problem'.
A match that Davydenko SHOULD have won.
Story of Davydenko's career.
Lol,too true, ever since FO semi against Puerta that's been basically the story of Kolja's career.
That was really bad. It is one thing to miss chances to beat Federer or Nadal, but to blow a 5th set lead by choking to Mariana freaking Puerta.
Going with the peoples champ in 3.
I never count him out. I hope he does win. Davydenko and Sod are only going to bow down to Federer, like they always do.

Is this directly following doubles?
Why do you think they don't bow down to Nadal?
They just match-up badly against Federer, that's all.

Its all a part of the grand ATP conspiracy- to give poor baby Nadal troubles and 'bow down' to Federer. Why do you think they don't bow down to Nadal?
"peoples champ", rolls nicely of the tongue, maybe more press people will pick it up.
Nadal should now be referred to now as either the peoples champ or the great one.
Nadal is wayyyyyyy overrated by having one good (lucky) year in 2008.
