Withdraws from his match vs Fed in Miami, withdraws after Djokovic reaches the Paris final. Can't lose if you don't play Nadal still the king of that philosophy.
IW, not Miami. He didn’t bother to play Miami at all to get ready for Fognini’s beatdown of him at M-C due to “muscular overload” during Mallorca training sessions.

Rafa has got much better on other surfaces. That being said, the level of tour has dropped.

But there is no denying Rafa is the best tennis player in the world going into 2020. He should win 2-3 slams unless Djoker has another level or these kids figure it out at the slams.

Fed will give it one last go, Djoker will need to raise his level. If Rafa keeps this level, I honestly don't see how he loses.

Well, thus far he hasn't had consecutive multi slams seasons. Could he do it now? I hope so, but he needs to stay healthy in the first place.

Can anyone calculate his withdraw rate across surfaces?
I wanted to look at the percentage played of each big3 compared to the percentage of opportunity to be played at each of the big 14 tourneys. Could be interesting.

Example: Fed played 87% of HC big tourneys, while Rafa only played 81%. But Rafa played 95% of clay while he played 61% of indoor HC.

Post Roger Federer's surface W-L in 2006.

I dare you.

Because that season is a trillion times superior to anything anyone has achieved in 2019. BTW-- also post Fed's season W-L for 2004 and 2007 which again obliterates anything any tennis player did in 2019.

How does this have to do with anything?

And by the way, look at the username of the poster you responded to.

Weak Era.

If Nadal has another 3 slam season next year at the age of 34 then that truly will be proof, if ever it was needed, that the level of the tour has dropped.

Fed devotees have always called Fed's withdrawals 'good scheduling'.

Damn. I hate Fed but I at least show it in the relevant threads.

This is just a full blown meltdown

Overall he def looked better on HC this year than clay. Even grass up till the Fed match.
It's misleading. His level tanked at the end of AO and about halfway through the clay season. But at the end he was his usual dominant self. If he maintains this level through the AO and does not get injured, he could be back to peak level on clay too.

Yeah but those 5 wins were all unseeded opponents. MC to Madrid may have been the roughest stretch of his season, but from Rome to Paris he was handing out bakery products to the elite.

a) This thread is about Nadal
b) Not entering a tournament is different to entering, seeing the draw, showing up to collect your appearance cheque, then withdrawing
c) This thread is about Nadal, but feel free to compile of list of how many times Federer collected appearance money and then withdrew without play a match
d) Have I made any errors in the above list, or do simple facts upset you that much?
