I rate 2008, followed by 2010 then 2017 even though he lost the least games in 2017.

The quality of players he beat in 2008 was phenomenal, losing an average of less than 6 games per match.

What stood out was Almagro was the player who stretched Rafa the most with 2 tie breakers !!

He wasn't amazing in 2010, he was great in the final and early on but he wasn't superb against Almagro and Melzer. In 2017 he was more dominant, his performance against Stan from 3-2 in the first was the best I've seen from him at RG since he demolished Ferrer in 2012. So 2008>2017>2010

2008 > 2017 > 2010

If I had to choose, then I'd take 2008 Nadal to somehow find a way to last 2017 Nadal's onslaught and grind him into the dust in the 5th set.

There was a retirement win for Rafa this year. So the games lost figure needs to be taken with a grain of salt, he also had a tougher draw in 2008 overall.
