The similar words was said several times before Serena lost in the final. She lost the last 4 Grand Slam finals, which she played, without winning the set. Her competitors are no longer afraid of her, as in the past.

She just won her first tourney (while also playing doubles) since AO17 and is definitely in the best shape Ive seen her in since 2016

True. She got crushed in all 4 finals really but she was really out of shape. Now she has shed some weight and looks fitter. I think she's gonna win another Slam.

Went along last night. It was good clean fun.

It was hilarious watching Kyrgios sheepishly avoid Nadal and Djokovic when he entered. He shot a nervous wave in their direction and then shuffled off to the side and hung with Roger, who proceeded to high five every player on the court upon entry.

It was also evident just how cleanly Djokovic hits the ball on these courts, even in a joke setting he looked a cut above.

Federer barely got out of 1st gear. I did notice he was serve-volleying from the deuce side fairly regularly, but never on the ad side.

Even Federer has a strong roster of quality contenders and fellow legends to deal with. What does Williams have? A bunch of Russian robots who baseline bash without thought. LOL

Watching this video, it's almost cringe listening to the players trying to come off as humorous. No real personalities on the court. Should just have them take the mics off and just play.

This I agree with lol but on the flipside, Serena is just that talented when she's focused and in shape. I've hated on her for years but I can't not give her props for getting into this kind of shape at 38 with a baby.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, HBK, Jerry Lawler right off the top of my head.
Oh you meant tennis? I can only think of Agassi as he's naturally witty and funny.
Federer is lacking jokes, Nadal isn't fluent enough, Djokovic is a try-hard and is about as funny as watching a dog take a poop, Kyrgios is cringe....no real fun personalities who can make it work on an open mic sadly :(

I agree about Rock and Austin. I didn’t watch much Wrestling outside that era, but as a youth during that time I usually watched it every week and laughed all the time.

However, I have no idea how much of their stuff was exactly booked like it was said and how much was improvised.

Federer can be kind of funny sometimes and Rafa as well, but he lacks the English skills. But the problem is of course that they cannot do funny trash talking like in WWF/WWE, because that wouldn’t be appreciated by the public in a sport like tennis.

Things are scripted today, which is why we love the Attitude era so much, they got to say what they wanted :D

That’s interesting. However, how did they do it back then? I mean, they somehow had to switch between improvised segments and the planned program, even only concerning the talking. Because if the talking is improvised, then easily someone who performs better at the given day can bully someone despite according to the bookers he should look inferior to him.

Basically management would let them know what needed to be accomplished by the promo they give and sometimes give them bullet points of things they have to say to get a fued going etc, but they got to say what they wanted and be themselves. Now almost everything is scripted so it's a lot harder for their personality to come across.


This was the best thing I've seen lately though lmao
