Wish the AEC hadn't turned this into an advert - one of the best things about Wimbledon is its conspicuous lack of (on-court) advertising - but a fine reminiscence nonetheless. Had never noticed that seemingly fateful connection between 4th final and 4th CP. Of course Goran himself did, haha.
Also quite telling that Pat admits he'd never felt so nervous before a match, yes due to the storied football-like atmosphere of that miraculous day. That's why those that quibble with this match for its less-than-flawless tennis miss the forest for the trees. Of course neither guy played at his very best... nobody could! Not in front of a raucous-AF crowd like that, probably the loudest/rowdiest this hallowed court has ever seen. I mean how could you let down such a loyal flock of followers?
The greatest Wimbledon ever, at least on the men's side. (The women's tourney ain't half bad either, but I personally can't give a full endorsement when it was one of my gal Justine's excruciating almost-there attempts at a career GS.)
