Some Random Achievements in 2013:

Nadal defeated a #1 seed at a Grand Slam for the 8th time at the 2013 U.S. Open. This is a record. He became the first player to defeat two #1 seeds in the same year for a second year (previously did this in 2008).

With his win, Nadal overtook Federer for the most titles outdoors all time with 58.

For the third time in his career, Novak Djokovic won 24 Grand Slam matches or more in a year. Only Federer has done this in more years (5).

Lleyton Hewitt won his 144th match in Grand Slam competition which tied him with Mats Wilander for the 11th most in the open era. He also won his 46th match at the U.S. Open which is 7th most all time.

Roger Federer won 65 or more matches at a third Grand Slam. Only Jimmy Connors has won that many matches at just two Grand Slams.

.

It helps when you yourself are not a number 1 seed, those who spend large chunks of time at number 1 will find it more difficult to do this.

Yes Federer was not no 1 for almost 10 years in his playing career..
And how many wins does he have against no 1s?

Brilliant post dude :D I had no idea that someone could not defeat a #1 while he himself was #1

Well RFederer defeated the number 7 seed this year whilst being seeded 7.

With RNadal fans you always have to explain these things, i was just informing them that this was not an example of how their humble warrior had it harder than everyone else as he battle to his grand slam victories.
