just wondering if you can play futures when your playing for a college team?
yes. the usta actually has a collegiate team that they sponsor for the summer to play these events. collegiate players must enter as amateurs and can only accept expenses as prize money. a good # of players in any futures event are either between high school and college or already in college.
ok thanks... and do you just sign up for futures to get in? or how do you get in?
Entrants are accepted 1st on ranking, but for most events, you can get in to qualifying if you sign up early enough.
you have to sign in the day before qualies. If you look at the tournies listing it will tell you where to sign in and at what time. From there its done by the rankings. Its not a first come first serve deal.
You also need an iPin in order to sign up for Futures events. Read more about it here:http://www.itftennis.com/ipin/
ok thanks for the answers everyone!
