random ranking scenario

    what if, entering a slam, two players had the same amount of ranking points to make them #32 in the world. what determines which of them gets seeded?

    when 2 players have the same amount of points, there is a procedure to break the tie:
    (from the ATP rulebook)

    sweet thanks I ended up finding that also..so does this happen every week by way of the ranking computer system? I mean if two guys are ranked at 67 does the computer automatically computer and arrange whose 67 and whose 68? thats kind of cool

    seems so... look at the current rankings, for instance:
    #75: Clement, Arnaud (FRA), 627 pts, including 280 points at slams & M-1000 (total events: 34)
    #76: Mello, Ricardo (BRA), 627 pts, including 132 points at slams & M-1000 (total events: 21)
    but if you dive into the abyssal depths of the rankings, you'll find a lot of unbroken ties ! [​IMG]
