Rank best to worst Slam finals for each year

I'll start with 2008, since that's the first year I watched all the Slam finals. I'm factoring in both quality and drama in, but more emphasis on quality (example, W09 final was more dramatic but AO was a little higher quality).

2009: AO, W, USO, RG
2010: USO, W, AO, RG
2011: USO, RG, W, AO
2012: AO, RG, USO, W
2013: USO, AO, W, RG
2014: W, RG, USO, AO
2015: W, RG, USO, AO
2016: W, RG, AO, USO
2017: AO, RG, USO, W
2018: AO, USO, W, RG
2019: W, USO, AO, RG
2020: RG when Thiem beats Nadal in 5

Starting from 2004 to provoke salty discussion (I'd say 2003, but I've never watched even a little bit of the RG and AO finals for that year):

2004: W, RG, AO, USO (RG was cool for the five-setter, but too much of a choke-job to put it above Wimbledon)
2005: AO, USO, RG, W (first three can be switched around; overall a solid year)
2006: W, RG, USO, AO (meh)
2007: W, RG, USO, AO (great year for Slam finals)
2008: W, AO, USO, RG (solid year)
2009: AO, W, USO, RG (best year for Slam finals; even RG wasn't too bad if you like some Fed masterclass)
2010: USO, AO (didn't see the RG and Wimbledon finals)
2011: RG, USO, W, AO (RG final was better overall, but USO had one of the best sets of all time)
2012: AO, W, RG, USO (I didn't really like the US Open final even though it went five, but the other three Slam finals were great, especially AO)
2013: USO, AO, RG, W (this was a good year overall, but the Slam finals weren't the highlights)
2014: W, RG, AO, USO
2015: RG , W, USO, AO (decent year; I picked RG because of Stanimal)
2016: USO, RG, AO, W (not that great overall)
2017: AO, RG, USO, W (this year wasn't too great, but still quite a lot better than 2018 purely for the AO final)
2018: AO, USO, RG, W (this year was awful in terms of Slam finals; only the AO final was worth watching, and that too for the sole reason that it went five)
2019: W, USO, RG (underrated match), AO (very solid year for Slam finals)

Well, you don't win slam finals by only giving a fight for 2 sets. Medvedev deserves credit because he turned a comfortable beating into a dog fight.

I think it really depends. Some masterclass performaces are better to watch that an average 4 set match. Like I might watch 2008 RG final for the insane level by Nadal rather than the average Djokovic-Murray AO final.

I do, but i was considering epicness/entertainment, speaking of level of play AO was better(And maybe USO too).

AO 2009 had better quality. If that final hadn't happened, Wimb 2009 would have easily taken the top spot.

Agreed. I rated AO as the best of the year, but I thought more people would take issue with me putting AO over W.

Nothing overshadows the epicness of La Decima. And I remember vividly how Nadal detractors were saying that Thiem will beat him, and then that Wawrinka is unbeatable in Slam finals. Oh, how wrong they were.
