For Nadal FO 2014 is far from being his most impressive slam run. He had FO wins where he beat Djokovic and Federer, way more impressive than Djokovic and Murray.

How about Pete at the USO in 1990 as a 19 year old?

Beat Lendl in the QF, Mac in semis and Andre in the final.
I was thinking the same thing. Also, Sampras had just turned 19 and was basically unknown. That's the greatest performance I can think of.

Nadal - Wim 06/07/08 , USO 11 , AO 09/12/19?
I'll try to rank them in tiers. But why didn't you add AO 2017 for Nadal?

Tier 1: Wimb 2008, 2008, AO 2009, 2012.
Half-tier 1: AO 2017

Tier 2: USO 2011, Wimb 2006

Tier 3: AO 2019. Pretty much the weakest of the bunch.

That discussion with Nat wasn’t about Nadal performances but who he faced.
