Current Top 10:

1. Nadal
2. Djokovic
3. Federer
4. Murray
5. Soderling
6. Davydenko
7. Del Potro
8. Berdych
9. Roddick
10. Verdasco

Now, we don't know the draw, we don't know how the summer hardcourt season will be... But based on what we know right now, how would you rank the top 10 in terms of their chances of winning the US Open?

IMO:

1. Nadal
2. Murray
3. Djokovic
4. Federer
5. Berdych
6. Soderling
7. Roddick
8. Del Potro
9. Verdasco
10. Davydenko

Nadal the highest chance to win the US Open? Really? The courts don't suit his game. Granted chances of a win aren't entirely ruled out, I'd put him at maybe ranked 5 or maybe 6. Alot of guys ,especially the big hitters like Berdych and Soderling can challenge him on hard courts. And of course, we can't also count out formidable hard courters like del po (maybe) roddick, murray, djokovic and of course, Rodge

Sod over Djokovic? I'd say Fed and Djoko are easily top 2.

Djokovic's form this season hasn't been all that great. I'm not favoring him to win anything. I don't think he's beaten a top 10 player all season, unless he gets another wonderful draw it's hard for me to see him winning the USO.

TBF he's only faced 2 top 10 players all year, whereas Soderling has faced like 6 (winning 2 of those encounters).

But even throwing all that out the window, Djokovic has won a slam on HC, has made a final, plus 2 semi's and and 2 QF's. Compare that to Soderling, who has made one slam QF, and other than that has never even made it past the third round of an HC slam.

Also: Djokovic has won 9 outdoor hardcourt titles. Soderling hasn't even made one final on outdoor HC!!

And Djokovic's form last year wasn't great up until the USO yet he made the semi's.

Roger hasn't won a title in his last 8 tournaments. And some of you think he's the favorite at the US Open? Sorry, but his backhand is barely reliable these days and he's not as confident.

As for Nadal, he's the man to beat.

How many hardcourt titles for Nadal the past 16 months? Hardcourt slams?

That's exactly the reason why he has the least chance of winning.

Yep, Nadal has no chance. If he takes a set in the first round, that would be a pretty successful tourny for him. Heck if he avoids getting triple-breadsticked I would assume he would be quite relieved. But I cannot tell you the unprecedented joy that Nadal would feel if he won a round. It's what champs like him live for.

All the best, Rafa 2010!!!!

The surface doesn't suit him and Nadal has won his last slam at wimbledon this year.

He's had a great carreer.

I agree, but Nadal is not done in this world. Underwear ads, daytime soaps... Rafa the tennis player might be done but Rafa the man still has something left to prove.

Although i wouldn't be shocked if nadal losses this us open, i would be very suprised if he didn't win it.

If he wins everyone will talk about blue clay.

1. Nadal: hopefully he avoids any knee issues.
2. Mugray: biggest threat to Nadal on HC.
3. T-Berd: he's improved a lot and grown in confidence.
4. Nole: his breathing issues demoted him on my list.
5. Soderclown: another dangerous opponent for Rafa on HC.
6. ********: his era is over but i expect he'll make the quarters.
7. RodDick: doubtful
8. Tabasco: could make the quarters depending on the draw.
9. Donkeydenko: in poor form right now.
10. Del Porto: too early from wrist surgery, if he even plays.

As usual, a lot will depend on the draw ;)

There are alot of ifs and buts, but the tennis Nadal and Murray played at the last big event would put them as the top two favourites for me.

It's possible the fastest courts out of the four majors and the fact Nadal has played a hell of a lot this year could possibly tip it in Murray's favour. Put it this way, if Federer doesn't recapture his form and Murray doesn't win, it will be a huge missed opportunity.

If think Fed is the favorite even though he's in a slump for some time, Nadal could be a threat but I think Murray is bigger threat if he plays well, Djoko is a toss up, with some normal breathing and not having Fed in his half in HC slam like always, he could be a threat.

numbers 1-4 was tough, but I think that's about right, with 2-4 being extremely close.

Agreed. I can't see Federer winning either. He'll probably make the semis but no further.

I'd switch Djoko and Rafa though, just based on current form. Novak could come alive and shake off the cowebs of the past half year and really do some damage. But I'm getting less confident with each tournament he plays that he can pull off a slam victory this year.

Federer and Nadal are the two big favorites. Nadal is the obvious favorite, but you can never write off the 5-time champ. Djokovic always plays well there and always loses to the same guy, so if he can aviod Federer his chances are pretty good as well.

Nadal has better chances of winning the AO next year than the USO this year. Court and balls don't suit him.

Because five time winners and last year's finalist are hardly the favorites, shame on you people for doubting vortex and all his tennis wisdom.

Sorry, but when Fed can't beat his pigeon on his favorite surface, what makes you think he'll dominate USO? For all we know he'll meet another big hitter and get owned. Unless he comes out super motivated and firing on all cylinders, I just don't see him being favorite over Nadal/Murray or even Faker.

Nobody's suggesting he'll "dominate" and go on a tear, but to say that he still isn't a contender for the title is foolish.

But for the wrist injury and questions over whether he is actually going to play Del Potro would have been my number 1 choice.

I cant see Nadal winning this one, I would also rate cilics chances slightly above Verdascos.

Nadal fans are hoping for a Nadal-Federer final (or at least SF!)... while f-****s are desperately praying against it.

I'd love to see Nadal accomplish the Career GS and Fed Slam (defeating Federer at all 4 GS tournaments) in one fell swoop! I think this may be his last opportunity for the Fed Slam, however :-|

Top 10 minus Delpo:

Nadal
Murray

I don't know...on home turf Roddick usually plays some high quality tennis...and is usually only ousted by Fed and then of course the one Djoko loss...You would have to put Fed as 1 and Roddick/Murray/Djoko all at a very close 2, with Nadal 3rd (Let's not forget Rod was pretty much the only guy to beat Nad's this year and it was on a hard court...maybe not a GS but still a Masters)

There's no need to post crap like this. This is trolling, plain and simple. There's a reason why you've become know as the biggest joke of a Nadal fan on here.
