Rank top players by surface

We have 3 surfaces, but i would put indoor as separate from outdoor HC, we have different conditions indoor -outdoor and also indoor is generally faster-better for agressive players. HC are many variants, many of them, but i still think difference in indoor-outdoor is bigger than in slow-fast HC generally, because of no wind and other things.

From best to worst i think:

Nole - outdoor HC, clay, indoor, grass
Rafa - Clay, grass, outdoor HC, indoor
Roger - Indoor, grass, outdoor HC, clay
Andy - Outdoor HC, indoor, grass, clay
Ferrer - clay, outdoor HC, indoor, grass
TSonga - indoor, grass, outdoor HC, clay
Berdych - grass, indoor, outdoor HC, clay
Fish - grass, outdoor HC, indoor, clay

besides top 8 i would rate Delpo and Robin
Delpo - outdoor HC, clay, indoor, grass
Soderling - indoor, clay, outdoor HC, grass

What do you think rate top players how you feel what are their best and worst surfaces

Roger's best surface is grass and always will be. Hes just won a ton recently indoors. Federer is the greatest player to ever step foot on a grass surface.

MAybe you are right, i feel it close too, but i prefer indoor, because his results indoors are in last years better, he lost on grass to Hewitt, Berdych or Jo and play 5-setter with clay-courter in his last grass tournaments, so i think grass is not his best surface anymore - i see it really close, with little edge to indoor. But it is for sure subjective.

He only looks better indoors because rest of tour Real top players done nothing because they have done so much through out the season. and arrived tired to that part of the year. Fed for example didnt win WTF 08,09 he didnt even reached a final, because he was also a little bit tired.he also won season ending champions played in Houston which wasnt also INDOORS.i am not sure the titles he won in Shangai was played in indoors as well.I dont remember it now.Back in 03 04 The Houston event was outdoors.

1 Frenchie for Federer

NONE for Sampras

There's another one

we were talking about GRASS and there is no way he is a better grass court player.Fed is better clay court player than Sampras but still only capable of winning RG when Nadal is injured.

If this is today's rankings then I could more or less agree with the rankings for Federer. All time though, I feel it goes HC, Grass, Clay. I dont feel a need to distinguish between indoor and HC as there isn't a different surface indoors now(ie no carpet).

Shanghai was indoors as well.

Of Fed's current 5 year-ending titles, 3 have been indoors (London, Shanghai), and two have been outdoors (Houston).

4 surfaces

Completely agree that indoor hard and outdoor hard should be viewed as two seperate surfaces. Look at nadals record on both to see the difference for instance. He is a great outdoor hard court player. He is 4 to 1 leader against federer on the surface (the only time federer beat nadal on outdoor hard was 5 and a half years ago and then only by the skin of his teeth). In contrast i would say he is a good indoor player but not great.

Relax. In old grass, Sampras would win, but the new grass is too slow for Sampras and he'll lose to Fed. However, Fed is adept at both.
