I don't have much to disagree with here. 2018 Nadal is the only one that sticks out to me as a little high. I'd bump him down a spot or two.

Edit: And bump 2010 Fed up a spot or two.

yes 2014erer-2019erer would steamroll Srichiphan era, with all the knowledge, training and experience he attained in order to go toe to toe with djokodal...but pity for him he didn't have those rivals back then that made him better. At least he got a few freebie slams on his resume
 
I would bump up 2011 Nadal into the top 5. I mean, if not for Djokovic having one of the all-time great seasons, Nadal likely has an all-time great season himself. He likely wins 3 slams and 5 masters

I think Federer's conversion rate in 17 was just insane to be honest. And he really should have done a bit more to secure the YE #1 but I guess that's owing to the back injury in Canada. He had absolutely planned to play Cincy after and maybe goes a step further at the USO. All of that would have given him #1. All that said, got the 2 Slams including no sets dropped at Wimbledon first in over 40 years. Djokovic 2016 & 2019 is the only other 2 Slam guy to consider. From a Slam perspective, obviously Fed 14 & Murray 15 without Slams should be at the bottom but Covid season just has to be the worst in my opinion so by default I put it there. The margins between 4-8 is pretty small. I ultimately go with 2012 Fed because it was the most evenly split year for the Big 4 and Fed did do quite well taking the #1 rank for several weeks. After that Novak in 13 was damn strong but never rivaling Nadal really. Nadal in 2011 is in the same group but more bad losses and becoming Novak's pigeon, at least Novak in 13 came agonizingly close to beating Rafa on clay. Nadal 2018 over Fed 2010 because Rafa was out last part of the year and so his percentages are quite a bit better and that epic Wimbledon SF loss which we all know if he wins that's a 2nd Slam.

Federer was quiet good at USO 2011, he could have taken Nadal out...we know how indoor season went for Fed

Yeah, that's the one final I'm not certain Nadal wins, but I think I would've favored him against Fed that year. It's a shame they never met at the USO

Sir, he got Roy Emerson's career worth of freebie slams in the Srichapan era! Only toughie from 03-07 was W07. Everything else was a Skittle slam

If Federer beats Novak in straights I think he would have been favoured. Remember now Fed lost up 2-0 to Tsonga at Wimbledon and upset Novak at the French. I don't think Nadal even as defending champ would be the favourite under the circumstances Roger again upsets Novak let alone in straights. And speaking of Tsonga, he played Novak tougher than Nadal on grass despite coming back against Roger down 0-2. I could definitely see Nadal losing both finals to Tsonga & Fed. Have to look at his draws, he beat Fish/Murray & Roddick(seeded 21)/Murray. Not exactly prime form.

I remember an argument over him playing Basel instead of Paris. Some (me among them) thought it was nuts to skip a 1000 event rather than the 500 with the YE#1 within grasp, but others thought he should rest to prepare for another WTF.

Nah, race was over after USO. Basel was a much easier give at 500 and playing both it and Paris potentially losing WTF wasn't worth it. I mean, ultimately it didn't help with WTF but to get that #1 he needed to win Canada, obviously play Cincinnati and then who knows. I believe in a scenario where he wins both Canada & Cincinnati (Dimitrov lol) he's with the #1 ranking before Shanghai. He consolidates if he wins it as he did and then Basel puts him in cruise control if Nadal still finishes Paris in QF. He doesn't need to improve on WTF to finish YE.

Nah, the race wasn't over after USO, which is why Rafa played so much afterwards. Like Nadal, Federer should've actively pursued it.

Federer 2010 should probably be higher and Murray 2015 maybe bottom.
