First off, I almost put Fed's 2004 season #1. He was 18-0 vs the top 10. Nobody else that I have ever looked up went undefeated against the top 10. Also, he won 3 slams, a WTF, and was 11-0 in championship matches. This year was off the charts. But in the end, I had to put 2006 ahead of 2004. He had 1 more title overall and a better overall winning pct. I had a tough time between Fed's 2005 and 2007 seasons. 2005 was so close to being his best season. He had match point against Safin in the AO semi and he had a sprained ankle in the WTF final, another match that went 5 sets. I.e, he was so close to going 83-2 and ending up with the best winning pct in history, along with a career-best 13 titles. Federer was awesome that year. It blows me away that Fed's 81-4 season in 2005 ends up 4th on this list. And I originally had his 2005 season ahead of his 2007 season. But at the end of the day, his 2007 season featured 3 slams and a WTF title. I put 2017 over 2009 due to his far better winning pct overall, his 7-4 edge in titles, and his incredible 14-2 record vs the top-10. It's incredible that his 2017 season is only his 5th best. And lastly, his 2018 season has been awesome so far. Granted, it's not done. But he already has a major and 2 titles overall. This may eventually get replaced by his mono-ridden 2008 season. But I highly doubt it. Either way, a season in which Fed won a slam isn't going to make this top 10. That is incredible.

Making this list made me blush. His 2005 and 2017 seasons would be a career-best for most Hall of Fame players. And yet, they don't even make Fed's top 3.
