No doubt Milos has been following this site lately. That's probably why he decided to come forward and to serve BIG . He thanks all of the armchair coaches on this message board and says that the advice has turned his game around. LOL

Hee hee.

Second time this year Milos beat two top 10 players back to back.
Could it be a similar dynamic to Berdych/Murray down the road :?:

Yep. Ancic at Miami in 2008. It cost Murray his place in the top 20 . A couple of months later he makes his first slam QF, then wins his first MS, then makes his first slam final.

They say it's darkest just before the dawn.

Funny you should say that. After failing to convert his match point against Querrey in Los Angeles, Murray then went on to beat Nadal and Federer back to back to win the Toronto Masters a couple of weeks later! :)

I admit, I underestimated the lanky Canadian.

I think Murray reverted to some of his old, bad habits in this match ie. poor body language, swearing and muttering to himself, losing focus when he had several chances to close it out, squandering too many opportunities. It was disappointing to see but also a tribute to the kind of pressure Raonic kept putting him under and vice versa but it was Murray who crumbled first and Raonic who held his nerve even when it looked like he was on the way out. It was a great comeback for him. He deserved to win.

Say what you like about Murray (and I agree his on court demeanour was terrible today) but I must say his fans are classy - good sports and gracious in defeat. I'm a long-suffering Murray fan myself, but was happy for Raonic at the end. He deserved this one.

I've not seen this yet, but it sounds as if Raonic played another good match and playing in a more rounded manner that can keep him climbing the rankings.

Not wanting to take anything away from Raonic, as he clearly earned his win, but is it true that Murray wasn't sitting down during the change-overs towards the end of the match? I was told he was looking quite stiff, but hopefully it's just niggles that can be managed for Shanghai. You expect the players to be tired at this time of year, but there are enough with withdrawals already, so I'd like those who do turn up to be relatively free from injury.

Just finished watching the match. Raonic played very, very well. There's no reason with that serve why he should not be winning Grand Slams in the future, it's absolutely enormous. The rest of his game held up perfectly fine to Murray's too, and I didn't ever think his volleys were as good as they were.

Karlovic got top wins every now and then (Hewitt, Federer, etc.) so not surprising. If he's to maximise his potential, he needs to get a single QF at Wimbledon and start breaking some ace records.

The rest of Karlovic's game is no where near as good as Raonic's.

Why do you keep saying Karlovic? The kid is only 6'5"....He is an inch and a half taller than Murray, same height as Berdych, shorter than Delpo.

If you watched anything at all last night, you would have seen that he won the fair share of baseline rallies.

Why do you even post? Do you really love to spend your time and life just trying to get other people going? Pretty sad.

So I take it the Raonic hype is justifiable for the moment, no? ;)

Fun match, fun rallies, slightly gutted for Murray since he was a break up in that 3rd set but I can live with this.

Let's not forget that Raonic lost to Nadal in Tokyo 2010 and Tokyo 2011 without breaking Nadal even once (in 2010, Nadal WON 6-4 6-4, and in 2011, Nadal WON 7-5 6-3). So clearly Raonic has trouble breaking opponents who serve well in Tokyo, so it should be a decisive straight sets one-break-per-set win for Murray.

Murray already beat Karlovic 7-6 6-4 this tournament, so Raonic will be beaten by a similar, if not identical scoreline.

Seems like it was pretty surprising to you...
