Hey cool I thought I was a 2.0.. then 1.5.. and then 2.5. But after looking at your videos I think I'm a 3 :D
My forehand was similar to yours, I would like to see what people have to say about your game.

You heard the man! Discuss more!

Here is another video from my lesson yesterday. First it has a couple of serves, the me hitting dtl shots, dtl attacking shots, and then some forhands. This lesson I was trying to work on this I have problems with (certain directional shots). http://youtube.com/watch?v=8EUrwENVgCU

lol I dont get it? Want me to **** more, want me to have a softer stool :p On the chat you gave me endless amount of wisdom, and then this is what you post :p Damn, more comments peopel! Dont make me make another topic for this video to get more comments!

nice video. for some reason a lot of people seem to let the racket fly out of their hand while serving recently. makes me paranoid....

Lookin good, scez. Borat ain't joking. Right now you are transferring your weight forward a millesecond too soon. It's messing up the timing on your backhand and robbing you of a little power on your serve and forehand. Be a tick more patient with your weight transfer...you will be a god if you do.

both of you need to shorten your backswings on the forehand and why does that one kid keep slicing the backhand serve return.

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life, and more thanks for the extra input about my weight transfer :D

Scez, how long have you been playing for? I'd say you're about the same level as I am (I'm a 4.0 by the way),

I'd say you need to work on;
volleys: keep your wrist up, don't let it droop. oh I'd also suggest a split step right when he hits the ball. you kept moving right before he hit the ball
groundies: try to get some more depth on your shots, that makes it a lot tougher for your opponent. don't let your arm be too stiff. not to the middle too much.
serve: more knee bend. do ur best to improve it; like the say, its the most important shot in the game. good consistency though.
approach shot: not to the middle plz...try usually go for down the line.

scez, next time im in TO, as in next weekend, we should play :D lol

Scez , your first video's showed a 3.5. Your last video, with the instructor shows a 4.0. As a cameraman, your a 2.0 (please adjust the pod legs). Speaking of legs, your footwork is a bit slow. Quick feet is the key with good players at their given level. You could get a bit lower on your 2hb but it's still a fine shot. Your fh shoulder rotation and follow thru is excellent. Keep up the lessons - I see a future 5.0 !!!!

Thanks, but I think you were wrong about one thing. I did not have a tripod and was using the support pillars as a pod, so I should atleast get a 2.5 on my camera skills.

TN, if you want to play next weekend I will play, I play at mayfair which I am guessing you will be playing a tourny at. My msn is scez_5@hotmail.com, if you want to play just add me and we can work out some details. I will actually be playing the guy from my revenge match video again.

You guys tell him he's a 3.0 because you want to make yourself sound better. I doubt everyone in this thread (who said he was a 3.0) is better than him. Seriously, you are a 4.0 - 4.5, keep up the good work!

Honest answer, thank you

You're a stronger 3.5 with good potential as a 4.0. Some things I noticed that I think make you a 3.5 is that you were hitting the ball right back to your opponent. Then when you came to the net, you hit a poor volley, and your opponent had all day to hit the passing shot. Once you hit the bad volley, you should have split step and then just chose a side (anticipating). Maybe you choose right, maybe you choose wrong. But, the secret is, give yourself a chance. Staying in the middle on a sitter is bad.

I definitely like your strokes. You have excellent potential to be a 4.0 and maybe even stronger. You need to move your feet. I mean really move your feet. YOU ARE LAZY...lol...I mean that in the most positive way. If you can split step and then learn to move to the ball, your game will improve dramatically. I honestly think in order for you to move to the next level, you need learn to volley better, you need to bring your opponent out wide on both sides of the court (and come in and finish the point), and learn to hit approach forehands, backhands, and slices. Other than that, I bid you good luck.

Sorry that I forgot about your post, I have been playing since I was young. But that was just in the summers with some friends in the public courts. I only really got into tennis a couple years back though. That is when I started to do clinics and lessons and when I signed up for tw :D

And thanks again to the others, you sound like my coach who tells me to stop being so lazy and to always be moving, would help me be in such a better posistion to return balls instead of being too far or too close to the ball.
