Medvedev played very good today. Djokovic was just magisterial.

The semis and the finals were one sided but i think it had plenty of good and dramatic matches, especially early on so i would say it was entertaining and i thought it was more interesting than the uso and the french open last year.

I enjoyed it, other than being distressed and surprised at the beatdown in the final. And I missed several good matches I couldn’t bring myself to get up in the middle of the night for. Glad to see crowds for part of it, too (although some were on the obnoxious side!) Can’t wait for more tennis.

But yeah I get it. 2020 AO was one of my most favorite ever tournaments, and one of the reasons for that is because I got to watch more tennis there than ever.

Higher than 2019 AO final, because Medvedev won 9 games, which is more than Nadal won two years ago (8).

The final was supposed to "save" the tournament for us. Super performance by Novak, but still not what we hope for in a slam final.

Overall a weak tournament, with lots of big players missing and few matches of high level.

Actually, the most hated player on TT - NK - was involved in two of the best matches, as bizarre as it may sound.

The Tsitsipas comeback against Nadal was also entertaining. The Tear was the biggest drama.

Well that was mostly trolling on my part. I did miss way too many matches which definitely hampered my enjoyment of the tournament, but the matches I did watch weren’t that interesting anyway so I think it’d probably still be a 6/10

5/10. Not to take away from Djokovic's performance, there were moments when it was better than average (5/10), but this 7/5, 6/2, 6/2 match IMO was a 5. It also begs the question should the men's draw at the major's be the best of 3 sets. TC will replay the men's final, I wonder what viewer rating it will receive and in today's world how much longer 5 set matches will hold viewer attention? Best of 3 may be inevitable.

The finals weren't special, but there were some very entertaining matches: Hsieh reaching her first quarterfinal by beating her beast noir Errani along the way, Osaka saving 2 match points to beat Muguruza, Osaka giving a clinic to Serena of all people, Thiem coming back from 2 sets down to beat Kyrgios, Tsitsipas coming back from 2 sets down to beat Nadal.

It was great to watch some tennis again, so that’s the positive. Now, half of the men’s draw succumbing to abdominal and back injuries, I give it 2/10.

It was a disputed match where Zverev was leading the third set 3-0 with Djokovic serving 15-40 and the fourth was a tie-break. Great match which was indeed in doubt.
