Raz best 20 year old since Borg.

Am convinced Alcaraz is better than 20 year old Nadal. I think he will defend USO and get 2nd YE#1 to be the best male youngster in the open era if not ever. Thoughts?

All I know is he joins Borg, Wilander, Becker, and Nadal as the 5 guys in the Open era to have won 2 majors from their first 10 appearances (he is 2 from 10, Nadal, Wilander, and Borg were 2 from 9, Becker was 2 from 8). He is certainly a more complete player at his age than any I've seen, but comparing him to anyone prior to the past 20 years in that regard is also ridiculous.

In Rafa's 18-19 year old season (2005) he won ELEVEN titles, including 4 M1000s (including beating Agassi in Canada, and 2 epic 5-setters against Coria in Rome and Ljubicic in Madrid) and was 2 points away from a 5th M1000 in Miami. And of course won RG for the first time. In 2006 he won MC and Rome again, beat 2006 Fed FOUR times (including a great match in Dubai, where Fed was the 3 time defending champ) won his second straight RG title, and reached his first Wimby Final. That's a LOT to ask Raz top. People really don't give Nadal credit for how ridiculous a player he was at such a young age

No wonder I can't stand him. The hype has already been started by the goof brigade. .. Beats Grandpappy 50 year old, slow zombie mode, past prime Serbian serving like crap and all of a sudden hes better than Borg and Nadal at same age. Do you have any idea what a 2006 Nadal would have done to Djoker yesterday or at RG? *Hint*... Destroy him easy

You can't stand him bc you have some weird crush on Sinner bro. We all know why

All you do is complain about soft young mugs but you hate the one guy who isn't

Seems you just want to be the cranky old guy

He was, but for some reason struggled in slams outside clay for a bit. Surprisingly he didn't make a HC slam final until 2009.

Alcaraz has won the USO and Wimbledon (and got cramps during RG and missed the AO).

There's a case to be made for both.

He's the best player I've ever seen. He's got the serve and forehand of Roger, the movement of Nadal and the backhand of Djokovic. He's already better than them and he's not even peaked yet.

The thing is, Nadal didn't magically become good on HC in 2009. By that year, he had already won I believe 5 M1000s on HC, and had won the Olympics on HC in Beijing. And it's not like he was routinely getting beat in the 2nd or 3rd round of HC slams--he was already a SF in AO and the USO by then. And still, winning ELEVEN titles in one season as a teenager is insanity
