RDC rating on wilson six one 95 blx & kfactor versions

Hey everyone,

I bought 2 wilson six one 95 18x20s, one in kfactor and one in blx version a while ago, and when I got them strung the label says their stiffnesses are 78 and 72 respectively! Why such a difference? Also, the six one 95 blx has a stiffness of 65 on TW. I'm confused...

btw I strung them with luxilon bb alu rough + prince synth gut 51/53

Thanks!

My guess is that Wilson's quality control is to blame for the difference between the two racquets. The reason they are so high on the label is that is unstrung stiffness. Stiffness normally drops around 6-9 points when stung which is what tw measures.

I thought it was only 2-3 RDC points, that's insane if it's 6-9.

I actually think the stiffness in this case is stringbed stiffness which can be measured on a Babolat RDC-machine. My stringer has one and I have measured a lot of frames there. The stringbed stiffness will be lower after about a day after stringing. If the frame with 78 is measured directly after stringing and the other several hours later, that could make the whole difference. On the other hand...if measured at the same time I would wonder about his/her stringing technique.

The difference between frame stiffness strung and unstrung is usually 2-3 points.
