I have demoed over 10 racquets and I like the Yonex RDX 500 mid far better than the others. However, I'm having some trouble with consistency on my serves. I'm pretty certain this is due to the racquet's flex.

Can you guys please compare the RDX 500 to the RDS 001?

for me, the RDX500 felt really hollow. i tried it twice, and each was strung at different tensions, but it felt really hollow and powerless. the rds, on the other hand, felt a lot more stable and had more power overall.

that was from just my experience.

people who like the rdx500 will probably say that the rds001 was too stiff and that the rdx500 is flexier and has more feel...

If you like volleying, you'll love the rds' crisp response. I still think that the mp tour had just about everything you can want from a racquet - nice throat flex for slices while not being stiff enough for block volleys.

I tried the RDX 500 MP and didn't like it. The RDS 001 90 is a very nice racquet. The 90 seems to play bigger than other racquets of equal size, more like a 95. It has great feel in my opinion and is very comfortable. The racquet is nicely balanced and swings with ease on groundstrokes and on serves. I would suggest stringing it at or below 60 lbs though as it really lacks power in the upper end of the recommended tension range.

I agree that the RDX feels hollow, but how does the RDS 001's string bed feel? Is it as "buttery" as the RDX's? Does it feel like a mix between a lm prestige and the rdx?

buttery is defined by a very soft, flexy response...so my answer is definitely no. i've tried the LM prestige MP and have the rds001 mid, and imo, rds001 is nothing close to the LM prestige. i'd say the rds001 is more closer to the n6.1 than the rdx or LM prestiges, although it doesnt have as much power as the n6.1 tour 90. my rds is strung w/ babolat superfine play at 58/55. the racket itself doesnt feel that stiff, but i may have to string a little higher next time because the strings feel too loose for me.

im going to have to disagree on your statement about the rds001 90 playing more like a 95. although the sweet spot on the rds001 is fairly large, it's not as large as a 95 sq in. it doesnt have as much power as a 95 but definitely more feel.

Would you say that the RDS 001 MP(not mid) is right between the LM Prestige MP (low power) and the n6.1 95 (high power) ?

i havent tried the rds001 MP and don't really plan to. honestly, i bought the rds001 mid based on my experience w/ the mp tour-1 98" (somewhat similar specs), rdx500 MP, and the reviews i read on these boards. i like the mp tour 98 a lot and i hated the rdx500 because of it's hollow/flexy (however you look at it) feeling.

so i can't really answer your question...but i can tell you that the rds001 90" plays similar to the n6.1 tour 90
