JJ wolf seem to have legit power game that might translate ok into the pros. but Petros is not translatable to the pro game, he is kind of generic no power college playerCurrent Ohio State #1 JJ Wolf defeats last years graduating Ohio State #1 Mikael Torpegaard to win the Columbus challenger
JJ Wolf moves comfortably into the top 300 and is the highest ranked enrolled college player a solid 100 spots ahead of Petros Chrysochos
Should be interesting to see how he does this year

This is turning out to be insanely good match. now in 3rd set Torpegaard vs Maxime Cressy. Cressy is serve and volleyer which is rarety in today's game. and he is little bit insane on court.
Dose Cressy still play at UCLA ?? I thought he graduated. he looks like he is way too good for college tennis nowCressy is the No.1 for UCLA--serve and volley, chip and charge, love it. I think he has a bit more power than Clay.
He's very much like fellow former Bruin Clay Thompson. In style of play and on court demeanor
yes, he is a seniorDose Cressy still play at UCLA ?? I thought he graduated. he looks like he is way too good for college tennis now
He looks good but I don't think he measures up to Axel Geller talent. Axel should straight set him next week when they playyes, he is a senior
yes, he is a senior
Cressy was hitting some insane 1st volley as well as he was serving and volleying all the time. Cressy is poor man's Dr. Ivo22 aces - that helps lol
It isn't as bad or excessive as Sharapova. Albeit, it isn't a super turnon like Sharapova grunt but it isn't that bad. If I was his opponent, I wouldn't complain unless I was losingDeadspin wrote an article highlighting Cressy's excessive grunting. Apparently he "can be heard moaning almost every time he strikes the ball—sometimes both before and during the hit—and howling after every minor triumph".
Even the normally mellow Smyczek snapped and said, “Shut up! Jesus! Go back to frickin’...”
Earlier in the week, a player on an adjacent court, world No. 304 Ulises Blanch kindly requested: “shut up, man!”
Let's see if he continues this court behavior if he starts competing in ATP-level tournaments (I assume he hasn't). If he continues, then TTW can add ABC to ABZ.

Sounds like he gives 130 % on every shot on every point. Also he probably has no interest in being a good sportsman. he is a UCLA bruin afterall.I mean I understand on the topspin shots and serve, but on the slices and volleys? I think that's a little excessive.

This is true. Before, he was shrieking like SharapovaHe recently began doing this, I've seen matches last year and before that he didn't grunt anything like that.

WOW,, weird, this guy hasn't done a thing in the pro tour. Can't break the top 200, not even scratching the top 200, then now this ????????????????2014 NCAA winner Marcos Giron into the 3rd round at Indian Wells

Not that unusual in todays game. Look up Radu Albot's ranking history.WOW,, weird, this guy hasn't done a thing in the pro tour. Can't break the top 200, not even scratching the top 200, then now this ????????????????
In case you forgot, he had hip surgery a few years ago.WOW,, weird, this guy hasn't done a thing in the pro tour. Can't break the top 200, not even scratching the top 200, then now this ????????????????

well you didn't tell me thatIn case you forgot, he had hip surgery a few years ago.
Tremendous effort from JJ-makes it look easy to beat a NCAA champ. JJ will probably be playing former Clemson star Yannick Maden next assuming the #2 seed wins. Lots of former collegians playing this Canadian Challenger-Thai, Aragone, and Altamarino from UVA, Torp and Wolf from OSU, Skander and current player Gojo from Wake, Hiltzik from Illinois who reached QFs last year but lost in 1st rd this year, Redlicki of UCLA, the two Kings (Kevin from GT and Evan from Mich), Cid from South Florida, and current player Roy Smith from Baylor. Sure I missed some of the collegians who graduated more than 3-4 years ago. On center court, Liam Draxl, Kentucky recruit is playing the 8th seed from Australia; Liam kept it close the 1st 2 sets-winning first in TB and losing 2nd set 5-7 but is down 2-4 in 3rd. College players into 3rd round: Wolf, Cid, Redlicki-more to be decided tonight and tomorrow.JJ Wolf blows away Kwiatkowski 6-1 6-2 in Drummondville
It's a Futures event, not a Challenger.http://live.itftennis.com/en/live-scores/
Way to go Tom Fawcett, up a set on ryan shane in Calabasas challenger event on this week. Tom will take this one
Fawcett beat Ryan Shane who's been playing like top 100 player lately so this is a great win. It's a Futures event, not a Challenger.
Slow down there Feddie. Ostepanko's game has been nothing short of a dumpster fire for about a year or so. Good win for Ahn, typical loss for Ostepanko as of late.Go Kristie Ahn. She beat Ostepanko in Columbia. This is a great win, look for her to break into WTA top 50 soon.

And I don't think it is Ostepanko, either. Ostapenko is better.Colombia...not Columbia....
