Blaz Rola qualified for the Aussie Open with a straight sets win over Herbert.
Buckeye fans will miss Blaz Rola, his talent, work ethic and leadership.
Grateful for his three incredible years with the team and personal accomplishments.
But we are most thankful to see he made a great decision and is on track to transfer his college development toward success at the next level.
Congrats to Rola
Blaz Rola upset #55 Delbonis in the first round of the Aussie Open.
His 2nd round match was made a bit easier when #13 seed John Isner retired vs. Klizan in the 3rd set.
Rola has Klizan next who beat an injured Isner and before that has been in dreadful form. Then in the 3rd round he potentially has the winner of Robert/Przysiezny. Not the most daunting possible 3rd round match. Could Rola make the 4th round in his grand slam debut?? That would be incredible. I'm pulling for him.
Pulling for Rola, too.
Emilio Gomez crushed Souto 6-1 6-1 6-1 to send Ecuador to the next round in davis cup to face Brazil.
Devvarman vs KU Singh in New Delhi first round.
Devvarman will win easy
Steve Johnson beat Tommy Haas in 3 sets in the second round in Delray.
Rhyne Williams beat Baghdatis 6-7 6-4 6-2 at Delray as well.
sad to say but Marcos's days on tour may be numbered.
Cat Gard is still playing. Nick Meister is having some success
Stevie J running through Lopez in the quarters.
6-3 6-2 win by Stevie J. Next up Kevin Anderson in the semis.
College Tennis rules in pros..
Michael Venus is 1st seeded in qualies in Guangzhou.
Yannick Maden crushed his opponent 6-1,6-0 and now is in semis in USA ITF. Cat Gard lost today to Dennis Nevolo (he played for OSU??)
Nevolo was Illinois.
Devvarman vs Nedovyesov in the New Delhi final. Should be a good battle between former college #1's
also Sanam Singh and Myneni(Alabama) took the doubles title.
Have to mention Sekou Bangoura/Vihad Mirzadah def. world #2 Boutorac/Klassen last week in Delray Beach first round
Blaz Rola won a Challenger in China this week beating Sugita in the final 6-7 6-3 6-4. He will be 128 in the rankings Monday. He is actually in the top 50 right now for points in the calendar year of 2014.
Rola made a good decision to stay over in that part of the world and to make a run at some points. He picked up 90 with that win which is the equivalent to making the semis at a 250. I'm guessing he'll be playing qualies at Indian Wells this week because he isn't playing in Kyoto.
Kosakowski pounded De Bakker 6-1 6-2 and Shabaz got a good 3 set win over Kendrick.
Nick Meister beat Marchenko !
Kosakowski blowing out Goffin and will qualify at IW.
Isade Juneau, ex Indiana, beat Peliwo the 3 seed in the first round of a Canada futures. Peliwo posted on TT for a while, he seems to be regressing lately.
Novikov vs Kosakowski in Bakersfield round 1. Battle of former Bruins.
Should be interesting. They never met in the IW pre-qualies. From what I've heard, they are good friends and have traveled together before so they'll know each other's game.
Kosakowski beat CA in the semis and plays Krueger in the finals of Bakersfield.
Kosakowski won it in extremely physical fashion. On to Calabasas.
Nguyen pounded Cunha 6-1 6-4 in Calabasas. This is after Cunha edged Altamirano as well.
All former/current college players in the finals (both dubs and singles) for Calabasas:
M. Giron (UCLA) vs J. Jung (Michigan) for singles
D. Novikov & C. Smith (OSU) vs S. Bangoura (Florida) & E. King (Michigan) for doubles
Predictions on tourney champions?
Blaz Rola is in the finals at Panama City after beating the #1 seed Albert Ramos in the semis. He'll have a new career again after the match. If he wins he'll be around 110.
Jarmere Jenkins was in Panama City too, lost in the last round of qualies. Good experience Im sure for him.
Rola up 1-0 in the 3rd.
Rola loses 6-2 in the 3rd. Still a nice week for him.
Rola seeded 8, lost in the quarters to the 3 seed in Colombia. Jenkins lost in the first round of the quals.
Klizan got Rola again just like he did in the Aussie Open.
Karunuday wins a future in the Philippines. Very good week for him

Jaime Pulgar of former NC State lore is inside the top 600
2013 NCAA singles champion Blaz Rola has advanced to the semifinal of the Ostrava challenger and will play Andrey Kuznetsov who beat #1 seed Radek Stepanek in his quarterfinal.
Rola is closing in on a top 100 ranking in the ATP, now sits at 106, anticipate a friendly bump from this weeks results.
Rola up 9-8 in the 3rd against James Ward
Ward now serving for it at 11-10
Rola loses as does James McGee
Devvarman vs Nedovyesov in round 1 of the French open
Rola has a pretty good shot at getting in as a lucky loser.
Question ?? why did Anderson make it big in the pro tour but Devvarman did Not ???
