Recommend hybrids using the following 5 strings...

asintu

Professional
Pro Hurricane 16g and 17g
Babolat Conquest 16g
Babolat Tonic+ 15L
TiMO 17g
PSGD 16

I'm a string breaker (break multis and syn guts in 2-3 hours) looking for durability and also comfort.
For now I'm only set to try the following:
Hurricane 17g mains + Conquest 16g crosses
Hurricane 17g mains + PSGD 16g crosses

I'm still very confused as to what to do with the gut (I have enough only for 2hybrids)....
Hurricane/timo mains + gut crosses OR gut mains and one of the poly crosses OR gut mains + psgd crosses....VERY confused...please help!

Tough situation you have here, if you're breaking the syns/multi's that fast, the gut will go at a similar rate, although the durability of gut is seriously underrated. Sounds like you are sawing through your mains, you can TRY one gut hybrid with the gut in the mains and a poly in the crosses (Just to take away a little of the power), also use string savers to help get you a little more play time out of the hybrid, but if you're breaking that fast i'm skeptical if you're going to have a chance to see the wear before it just snaps.

I would probably at that point (if the durability was seriously disappointing) hybrid the gut with either timo or hurricane. The TiMO is not a very arm friendly string in the first place, so you might try and help it with the gut cross.

thanx for the suggestion...so another hybrid ill try is the timo mains + gut crosses...remains to be seen what to do with the other half of the gut.

Gut will break fast. Alu power rough, topspin cyber flash 1.25, poly pro plasma 1.18, lux. ace 18 are more durable, and can be hybrided with gut as mains.

For instance, if you put nat gut in the mains and a poly like Lux ALU Power in the crosses, you'll have better control and a little less power than a full gut job. On the other hand if you put the poly in the mains and the nat gut in the crosses, you'd have a more durable and control oriented string job, but it would be more arm friendly and softer playing than a full poly job.

Nicely put. Hybrids will give you a hybrid feel. Most use a soft main like gut and cross it with something to add rather than subtract to the feel, or for economic reasons. Gut with the old multi prince response is a nice hybrid. Lots of other pos. combos with gut, for many reasons. What's the ultimate hybrid? FEd uses wilson gut/alu power rough 16L. The mains do the brushing up, the spin, and most of the power. The crosses are the mainly the tensioners of the main, but can affect feel/control/durability of the mains, as the crosses will "saw" the mains in half. Lux does not move as much, so the gut lasts longer with a cross that will not saw. Well, the mains move back and forth, doing the sawing with gut, against the alu.

gut would be fine if you used it w/ string savers...i also recommend alu powers as well

Try a full TiMO 17 job. I played with that string for about a year. I am a serious hardcore string breaker and they lasted me about 6 hours in an 18x20 racket. I broke synthetics in about half an hour.
The TiMO has a really nice controlled feel with a lot of ball bite. I actually thought it was a comfortable string for the arm - unless you mishit a lot of balls.
The full TiMO job will play consistently because the strings won't move and the tension loss will be uniform for mains and crosses.

played with timo18 in full job and it was too harsh..also broke after about 3-4 hours..so i dont think timo17 will be more comfortable in a full job..at least for me...
i've just finished stringing hurricane17/conquest16 and can't wait to play with it

played 5hrs with hurr17/conq16 and kinda liked the setup except for: conq croses became a bit mushy i think, also i think the durability would've been 5-7 hrs. since 2 crosses became very, very thin..also the crosses moved a bit and their outer wrap started to come off.
All in all a very nice spin friendly setup.

Will play today with hybrid no2: Hurricane17/PSGD16

hurricane/psgd felt much, much different than the conquest crosses setup. psgd gave the stringbed unbelievable crispness..a pleasure to hit the ball in the sweetspot..now i understand all the hype about psgd...byu the way i used the optic yellow one

I found that when i hybrid my hurricanes with xcel premium its much better feeling than the conquest. more expensive tho if i remember correctly

ya but i dont even dare to try that since full xcel lasted me 2 hrs.

I've just strung hurricane16-mains with gut (tonic 15l) crosses.
Now I've got the best setup: Rafa's racket, Roddick's strings and Fedex's overgrip:D
Can't wait to see how the gut will perform..first time trying it....exciting stuff!!!
