Recommend Me a New Raquet!

TENNIS_IS_FUN

Professional
I currently use the RDX 500 Mid...

Pros: -Paintjob
-Control (too much)
-Not alota people use it
-Volleys
Cons:-almost no power
-I think its discontinued (its not on TW)
-Beam is too thin for such a raquet
-Too much flex for such a raquet
-Raquet is owning me

I think im a solid 4.0....I have a baseline game but am becoming more accustomed to the net. I think the rdx 500 is in a sense too good for me....I'm gonna need a raquet with more power, it doesnt have to be a specific headsize, just no oversize raquets. For price....anything less than 150 :) Any company is welcomed, all except yonex (bad experience). Thanks.

you could look into the k/n-six-one 95 with 16x18 string pattern for more power. another option could be the ntour which currently is sold at a very low price, or if you don't like "discontinued" racquets, the ntour two would be the choice.
you should not make any decision though unless you demo the racquet, because what works well for some people, might not work at all for others.

You're used to Yonex, so the grip would probably be familiar; check out the RDS 002 Tour. If you look elsewhere, the Fischer M Speed 98 is a great start.

Does sound like the RDX is a bit too much racquet for your current game.

I switched from the RDX Mid to the Dunlop M-Fil 300 last year (age vs. the RDX issue for me.) The MF3 is currently $79 on TW. It has more power than the RDX, great control, nice solid feel...strung around 55 you'd probably like it quite a lot if my transistion to it is any guide....you could get two for $150!

The reduced weight (around 11.2 or so w/overgrip and dampener) should help you in longer matches, and you could lead it up if you wanted to.

Another favorite is the DNX 9...very solid feel, nice power/control balance, 11.5oz weight spec strung. If I hadn't gotten the M-Fil 300 it likely would have been the DNX 9.

Do some demos when you have a few more ideas and try to do your demos with a pro or opponent who can push you so you can see how you fare while under pressure....
