Recommend me a racquet

Hi, i'm a 15 year old freshman going to be a softmore in high school. I'm currently using a PDR. I've had many problems with this racquet such as tennis elbow, volleys, and control. I do love the serve on this racquet though. Also, due to its heavy weight and my full long swingstyle, i usually hit the ball late further affecting my game play. Can someone recommend me a racquet with a little less power, more control, good serve, maneuverability at the net, and medium weight?

I'm thinking about considering these racquets...
Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex
Head Microgel Extreme Pro
Babolat Pure Control
Babolat Pure Storm
Prince Speedport Black

Any recommendations?

I would definately recommend the Wilson nCode nPro Open. In my opinion, control is excellent, and the head-light balance makes it very maneuverable at net. At least take it for a demo.

I think you should try the Pure Storm. Less power than the PDR but more than the nBlade, plus it's more comfortable. It could be just what you are looking for.

i switched from the pdr to this racquet about 6 months ago after having the problems you discussed and my play improved a lot

take it for a spin... just dont buy anything until you test it out

I'd suggest you look into the Volkl DNX 9 and maybe the Tecnifibre TFight 320. There's a good chance that if you get into something with a little more flex to relieve the tennis elbow, you're going to trade off a little gas on your serve, but you ought to see a boost in control as long as you don't get a noodle of a frame.

Two from Yonex that you might want to look over are the RDS 001 mp and the RDS 002 (non-tour model).

Would also highly recommend Npro Open. I tried it against the APD + cortex, the microgel, Prince O3, etc... The Npro gave the best overall blend of performance. It did not stand out in any department (like the APD + cortex, which stood out in baseline power), but it was really good at everything and I am developing much more accuracy, touch. Overall, its just loads of fun to hit, and it lets you know when you hit it well. I think its close to a players racket in terms of feedback, control, touch, but still gives you some power and forgiveness. Best of all, its SOOOOO easy to manouver.

If you decide on pure storm, wait till august before you buy because I hear they will launch new versions of the storm.

^great racket btw, but nblade or npro is better IMO

Hey it's a UW Husky!!!

And if you DO buy a pure storm, wait til the new version, cuz then you can either buy the new one, or pick up an old one for cheaper...

OMG! I feel really dumb!

I was slightly tipsy last night and my bro drove me to a tennis outlet nearby and i impulsively bought a ADPC because amazingly it was in stock and it was so yellow and cool looking. GAH!!!! They won't take it back because i took off the shrink wrap thingy on the grip!

I have yet to try it out because i haven't gotten it strung but do you guys think this racquet's going to be good for me if my PDR is a little too powerful? And please don't point out that i made a dumb move, i know i did....

Well I too am a 15 year old, with what sounds like similar strokes. I'm using the PD+(w/o cortex) and its an absolute dream. If you use a tighter string and add some weight to the grip, then that should deal with things. Although I have to say, the Pure Storm is a racket that I'd love to have, and seems to suit your requirements as well.
