Recommend some good floating clamp

I had floating clamps that I got from a drop weight machine
from Eagnus and one of them got broken recently.
I had them only about 1 year and I can not believe it already
failed. I realized the clamps are crucial for quality stringing job
with my entry level machine. My old clamp did not have consistent
grabs and I found I often damage strings to make sure I have
firm holding of strings. So recommend me some good high
quality floating clamps that last long...

Clamps

I'd go with either the Gamma or the Prince clamps. You can find them lots of places. I think TW has them as well. Any other probs with your eagnas?

If I was going to be buying floating clamps, the plastic Gamma ones would not be high on my list.

I've had no problems with Silent Partner all metal floating clamps. As well, I've heard nothing but good things about LaserFibre floating clamps.

Drop shot, I have Hawk 26 and it's a good entry level machine
comparable to Klippermate. Hawk 26 has a bit more convenient
features like ball bearing rachet gripper. Only problem I had
so far is the floating clamp that I'm going to replace.

Anybody has opinions on Klippermate floating clamps ??

I ordered a laserfibre flying clamp couple of weeks back. Its 10x better than the gamma plastic thumbscrew ones and 100X better than klippermate. I would stir far away from klipper mate. The clamps look heavy and can strain the strings.

Tennis Machines, Inc had some listed that are spring activated (you just squeeze them and let go). They used to be called Speed Clamps. I really like them, but if your machine has short mounting arms, they won't fit very well under the stringbed. They're long. I guess they have to be to get the leverage to squeeze them easily and still get enough pressure on the strings to hold them. Worth looking into though.

If I needed flying clamps, I would buy Laserfibre - they're the best around.

Klipper's are $25 each and Laserfibre's are $43 each.
I need some justifications to pay nearly $100 for 2 flying clamps.
I paid $150 for my Eagnas stringing machine(didn't even pay
$50 shipping.. I picked one up by myself...)

Oh well, I might just have it replaced under warranty...

Strungway clamps are worth every penny.

stringway clamps!!!
I had them, the triple clamps, and they are really great product to work with.
they are expensive but the results shows.

I have used both the Klippermate and the Stringway.

The Klippermate jaws are very narrow, and can fit anywhere. They are also difficult to adjust. It would be very easy to adjust them to hold a small gauge string, and then leave it, which would be too much pressure on larger diameter string.

The SW clamps are wide and easy to adjust. Consequently, they are very easy on the strings, and don't need to be cleaned constantly to hold well, even on coated natural guts.

The triple SW clamp is also very handy to use as a thicker clamp with two strings instead of the normal three, matching up well with crosses at the top and bottom that are widely separated.

The SW and Klippermate clamps are sturdy, and should last for many years, making either choice a better value than the junk you are replacing.
