Recommendation for next shoe (I have very narrow feet!)

Ramon, so your toes jammed a little on the Adidas Barricade 2016 because you got them a little shorter? So you think I should go with 11.5?

Between the size 11 and 11.5 of the Adidas Barricade Boost 2016...is there a good judgment call though? Like with foot swelling etc. on what I should lean towards? Like if there is more extra material on the top of the shoe with the 11.5 does that mean I should lean towards the 11? Just need general guidelines that are good to stick with to make the decision easier. I have to tie the size 11.5 really tight like I did my Nike Air Court Ballistic 4.3 because of my narrow foot...not so much on the size 11 but I notice just wearing them around the house that the size 11 cuts into the ankle a little bit. But other than that not a super ton of pain?

I'm not sure it is the right shoe for sure because it still slips and the issue with having to tie it real tight just on the 11.5. Should I keep looking? Any other suggestions? Maybe need to keep trying.

No, I wasn't talking about my Barricade Boost 2015. It doesn't give me toe jamming in size 9.5 (my usual size). There were other shoes in the past that did. Previous Barricades were known especially for toe jamming, but not this one. Should you get the 11 or 11.5? I don't know. You're probably the best judge of that. If you have any sort of room in front of your toe on the 11 and you don't feel toe jamming when you make a sudden stop, then I'd say you should get that. Another thing to consider is how they fit if you insert a pair of insoles on top of the existing ones. With this shoe, that's going to make it a tight fit for just about anybody. By the way, my Barricade 2015 Boost right shoe cut into my ankle (the inner side) a little bit too when I first wore them, but fortunately, it went away.

Thanks Ramon, on the 11.5 when I stick my index finger back behind the heel on my foot, I can easily stick my whole finger behind my foot into the shoe. Is that an indication it's too big? Or not necessarily?

It's looser than mine. My fingers are thin, just like my feet. If I try to do that my toes are flush against the front of the shoe and my index finger is feeling some pain.

So that makes me wonder if I should just stick with the size 11....ugh but then I am scared they might be too small. Can't decide.

Try them both with a pair of insoles (I would pick Superfeet Green) on top of the existing one and then decide. I can almost guarantee they will both be tight. The Barricade is supposed to be tight, and I'm guessing you've never felt a really tight shoe before. That's how it's supposed to feel and how you'll get the most support.

Thanks Ramon...I don't think I want to purchase insoles though because of extra money. Just can't decide if my toes are going to get jammed in the size 11 or not.

You can go to the drug store and get something from Dr. Scholls for about $10/pair. Just don't get anything too mushy, get something firm for support. You can even stack a pair of those flat odor things underneath your insole. These are just ideas to make the shoe tighter.

Ramon, just out of curosity...can you do a foot tracing of your foot and what do you come up with? And what shoe size do you have of the Barricade Boost?

My foot tracing came up as 11 and 1/8 inches.

My work shoe (loafers) are only a size 10.5.

Here's what I can tell you. If you put my foot on a shoe ruler I measure a size 10.5 and my 2nd toe is my longest. My big toe goes to about a 10, and I'm somewhere around an A or B width. Most of my tennis shoes, including the Barricade are 9.5. Lotto would be a 10. I could have probably gotten away with a 9.0 in Asics GR6 but the 9.5 is ok anyway. I try to get away with the shortest shoe possible without jamming my toes. Occasionally I might be off and my toes will jam, but that's the risk I take.
