Hi TTW - I need to pick up one of the latest Head Prestiges (Graphene Touch Prestige MP) to use the Head Tennis Sensor. Can any long time Head players provide some advice on what grip size to purchase? Especially those of you who use a leather grip. I've noticed the grip size and shape have changed.
All of my comments are based on post-application of a Fairway leather replacement grip and an over grip. Also, can we try to keep this civil and leave out the spicy comments about the way the newer vs. older Prestiges feel, flex, etc.
The most recent Head racket I use is the Microgel Radical MPs in 4 3/8 (L3). After applying a leather and an over grip, it feels slightly too big. Since we're talking millimeters here, its not a huge deal, but noticeable. This was a surprise because I have used the Prestige Classic and Pro Tour in 4 3/8 with leather + overgrips in the past. The MG 4 3/8 also feels bigger than Wilson's 4 3/8 (Ultra Tour).
The shape of the handle also seems to have changed. The MG Radicals are less rectangular than the older Head rackets.
Has anyone else noticed a change in the shape and size of the grip size? Have you all been downsizing your grip sizes?
For additional reference, I'm using:
- Yonex 4 1/4
- Babolat 4 1/4
- Wilson 4 3/8
Thank you!
