Hey all,

I was just wondering what you would recommend for cheap polyester sets of string, because i'm trying to find ways to save money on stringing, and i was wondering what the best strings for the price are out there.

suggestions?

For under $8 bucks I'd say the best two choices are Big Ace and Cyberflash.

For straight up value, you can look at Gosen Polyon. Cheap and gets the job done.

I think Iso-speed also came out with some cheap polys, but I don't know how they play.

I second Cyberflash. Great string and my choice outside of Cyber Power which I have just come to like. I also string Polyon SP for customers as it is cheap and plays well enough.

I don't know how long the supply will last, but when you go to Kirschbaum strings at TW there are sample packs for Pro Line I & II. A pack of three sets of Pro Line I costs $21.63, while a three-set package for Pro Line II costs $25.20. The Pro Line I pack will meet your criteria, as it will cost $7.21 a set. Pro Line I strings are pretty good, as they bite the ball well. They play a little stiff, but you'll be fine if you lower your tension a few pounds.

People seem to rave more about Pro Line II, although I haven't tried it myself yet.

I see in your sig you already use Cyber Flash. That is under $8. Then there is Big Ace, and ... Polylon strings which are also $8. I think there are some others but cannot think of them now.

I like Cyberflash and Cyberpower. I just restrung my PDR today. Got about 20 hours out of Cyberpower before it broke. Played well until just before the end. I bought it in a reel for $85, 726'. It takes 35' to string my PDR. That comes to 20 stringings and $4.25 a stringing. Very nice.

Cyberflash works out even cheaper at $68 a reel and $3.40 a stringing. I didn't want to change anything since I'm playing in a doubles tournament this weekend, but I think my next stringing is going to be a hybrid of the two. I think they might make a nice combo.

wow, thanks for the info, i was already leaning toward the polylon and, as you saw, i personally use cyberflash.

the main reason i was asking is that i string for a few guys from my hs tennis team, who want durability, but can't tell the difference between Prince's Tournament Poly and Luxilon BB ALU Flouro, so i was wondering what the best value string was. i was leaning towards what has been suggested, so its good to see that you all are in agreement with me

but that Polyspin reel is a great deal, so now i think i will include that as well as a reel of cyberflash and polylon ice (they seem to like ice more than original, for some reason?)

but thanks for the input guys.
