Recommended Racquet Strings for NRTP 4.0? String type vs Tension?

Hi!

My current racquet is a Head Graphene Touch Speed MP (16 x 19) with the strings being a combination of co-poly strings RS Lyon and RS Paris (recommended at the shop). After about 50 hours months of play the strings seem to have lost their tension so I'm looking to replace them. My groundstrokes are developing pretty well and while my game is probably around NRTP 3,5-4,0, my forehand is probably a bit higher than that with regards to speed/accuracy/consistency while the rest of my game is of lower standard.

Now, I've seen some recommendations advocating co-poly strings for ~"intermediate" players, saying that polys are for higher level players. Do you agree and what are your string recommendations?

From what I've understood, given the same type of string, it seems like narrower strings equal more speed and spin. Now with string tension, it seems like higher tension equal less speed/spin but more control. How will a combination of thick/hard strings + loose tension compare to a combination of thin/soft strings and higher string tension?

Did that same shop recommend keeping them in there for 50 hours? Because, any string is going to loose tension and be notched at that rate.

I'd go with a hybrid if you don't break your strings every month. A good starting point will be Kirschbaum Pro Line evolution and Gosen OGSM syn-gut hybrid.

1) I hope jaxadam is being sracastic. 2) I'd go with a 16g synthetic gut to start. If you're getting enough spin to keep the ball in most of the time, and you're not breaking the string every 2-4 weeks, stay with the synthetic gut. It maintains its tension better too. If you're breaking it or can't keep the ball in play, try the hybrid. With a MP racket, I'd start out with about 58# tension.
