I have surgery 6 months ago, everything was fine until a month ago when an internal contusion caused knee pain again. After 10 days of anti-inflamatory use, I will be fine again (I am still on the 5th day but feeling ok already). My concern is that the bone contusion may me recurring since I had a partial meniscectomy.

Does any body who had a partial meniscectomy found comfort using a particular well cushioned tennis shoe. Recommendations are appreciated.

Doubles, my man. If you're having bone contusion, you don't want to be doing much running as you'll start to develop traumatic arthritis. Choice of shoe won't have very much impact on that problem.

wouldnt it be best to talk to your doctor about this instead of a bunch of people on a website. you might get alot of bad advice in here and end up hurt and needing additional surgery. i would call my doctor and ask him what he thinks.

My Doctor recommended a natutal enzyme called Bromelaine (available at GNC). I have been taking it daily for the past few weeks and the results are awesome.

I had such surgery a few years back. I have tried many shoes since then (to deal with foot problems). Barricade II, Barricade V, Gel Asics, K-Swiss. I could tell no difference between shoes regarding my knees.

The thing that really helped me recover was a sick amount of leg strengthening. Just thinking about doing more leg lunges makes me want to cry, but my knees bother me when I slack off.

At six months out from surgery, I was still having a lot of trouble with my recovery (bad tracking). I don't think I was all the way back until 18 months. Now it has been four years, and it's all good.

Good luck!!

Tennis shoes search is over. The answer was Prince T22. The most comfortable and shock absorbing tennis shoe I have ever used!!!!

Ha!

I switched to the T22 about six months ago. It really is a beautifully cushioned shoe. I can't say it helps my knees, but my feet are very happy.

I'm glad they are working for you. How's the bone bruise?
