Recommending a racquet to someone

People come out everyday asking what racquet they need to switch to, sometimes the racquet of their choice being vastly different from what they were formerly using. And they get a lot of responses, each one recommending a different racquet. Do you think this actually helps the person who posted the question? Racquets are by no means cheap and even demoing 3-4 racquets can be expensive for some. Do you think self help is the best way to go - just look up the specs of the racquet you want on racquet finder and demo it or buy it and stick with it till you adjust to it?

I don't know the answers to those questions and I am glad I have finally settled with a great racquet. But what's the solution for others?
