refund for a league that didn't make

So I paid a USTA registration fee to join a team, around $35 or so. Well, in the end, there wasn't enough interest so the league didn't materialize. Is there a way I can get a refund or at least a credit towards the next team/league that I join?
Thanks!!

Contact the League Coordinator, they should be able to help. I don't know that I've seen an outright refund although I'd think it is possible, but have seen a credit towards another league done.

Our LLC will either refund (less the active surcharge) or give you a credit for any team for which you registered but never played

It is definitely an email/call to your LLC though.

Same situation for me in the spring. LLC credited my payment towards the next league I signed up for. Emailed him to confirm this is what he would do, then sent followup email when I signed up for summer stuff. No problemo. LLC- thank less job for sure.

What is the active surcharge? It's a joke that you can't get a full refund after paying the USTA for a service that they did not provide.

Are you sitting down? I believe the surcharge is for the ability to register online on Tennislink.

I agree, it’s outrageous. On a positive note, I heard today from a very reliable source that Tennislink won’t be around much longer.

So, I know that it says:
NOTE: A non-refundable processing fee per player per registration will be added to local league fee for users of the TennisLink Web Registration System.
But, that's only partially true. If you drop out of the league then you can't get your registration fee money back, but if they fail to run the league then you can. All you will have to do is dispute the transaction for the difference with your credit card company.

Disclaimer - I'm not a lawyer, but I've never had a disputed charge "rejected".

Tennislink is user hostile, I can only hope you are right. :giggle:

I think this is a valid case for a dispute.
