Looks like The Danish Prince is headed slightly southwestwards from Metz to play the usually stacked Orleans Challenger.

A straight set victory for Holger Rune against Ricardas Berankis on Thursday evening in second-round action at the Challenger in Orléans. The Dane faced break points in only one game and by then he was 3-1 ahead in the first set. Having saved them, he never looked back as he went on to record a comfortable 6-2, 6-4 win.

In Friday's quarter-finals Holger Rune will take on Henri Laaksonen in an encounter between two unseeded players, the Swiss player having beaten the no. 2 seed, Benjamin Bonzi, earlier today. This will be a first meeting between Rune and Laaksonen.

That was a pretty short match. Losing 4&1 to Escobedo isn't a great look. Anyone catch the match?
I did not. Yes, a real slap in the face after the first set. Escobedo is no slouch though and had tremendous home court advantage along with being prepped for playing conditions via two rounds of qualifying. Sometimes getting a WC is rat poison for the less experienced player. As an example, look no further than this week’s results by WCs: Murray was the only WC who won and Jacques Chaussette was the only other WC to even win a set.
