I got the wrong grip size for KPS88 and it always feels like im gona accidently release it during a serve.

Im planning on taking off the leather grip and replacing with just an overgrip.

The leather ways 22 grams, and i am wondering what the balance will be after i remove it and add an overgrip. currently at 6 points head light.

thanks in advance

I removed the leather grip from a KPS 88 and wrapped three overgrips around instead of one. I'm gonna hit with it tomorrow to see how it feels differently than with the leather grip. Didn't check the weight yet, but it definitely feels lighter and swings more easily. Will come back and let you know after tomorrow.

Balancewise it now stands at around 5 pts headlight. As you are gonna use only one overgrip, it will be slightly less headlight than 5pt, I guess.

Disaster.

But don't worry about the 20- grams weight reduce in the handle. That's just like you take off a long wrist band. SW > Weight > Balance. The SW won't change much.

Find a thinnest replacement grip. I remember Kimony offers leather grips 0.9mm to 1.7mm. If I were you, I will definitely replace the racquet.

Got back from hitting w/ the KPS 88 with 3 overgrips and no leather grip. It played a little easier but still felt heavy and was not very maneuverable, so I sold off the racquet immediately. :-)

I couldn't really tell the difference when it comes to the balance, but your case might be a different story as you'll use only one overgrip. Anyway, hope my experiment is helpful.
