Removing metal weights from Yonex grip?

Has anyone tried removing the metal weight in a grip foam in Yonex racquets?
Recently I’ve tried removing it but I ended up damaging the foam and the carbon shaft underneath…
Curious how people do that without deforming the shape of grip and remove only the weight.

Yes, I've done this many times before.
A precisely fitting piece from a head pallet is glued into the gap and, once hardened, adjusted to the existing contour.
It's not rocket science.

Thank you for the reply!
This is the first time I’ve learned about this method, and I’m really impressed.

After removing the weight, do you leave the cavity empty and simply cover it with a piece of a Head pallet, like a lid?

If possible, could you also explain the process of removing the lead weight?

The picture above was just an example—it wasn't a Yonex.
But I documented the removal of the weight from a Yonex a few years ago with a series of photos.

Here are the pictures:

If you look closely, you can see the darker discoloration on the cleaned handle—that's where the iron plate is underneath.
You can also locate it with a magnet.
Carefully saw up to the hairpin with a fine saw and then remove the part.
I clamped the grip in a vice and carefully knocked it out with a wood chisel.
There's nothing more to say – the pictures say more than a thousand words.

I discovered something else in my collection.
Last fall, I had to convert a grip 2 to a 3D carbon grip 5.
You can also see how the iron plate is positioned.
