Replace PHT 17 with...???

Hey I'm looking to replace 17 gauge PHT but I have a very specific reason and therefore a specific requirement. I just put in 18G RPM blast and now my racquet's swing weight is perfect. With the 17G PHT it was a bit too head heavy and causing me some injury.

I don't like the RPM blast because it doesn't give me the pop/feedback that the PHT did and it launches the ball much higher. I'm also a pretty nasty string breaker since I hit the ball hard so RPM will not last a few days.

I almost like a low/flat trajectory as if you're hitting a ping pong ball with a wooden paddle without any rubber. Somehow the PHT did that but added a great amount of spin.

Anyway it was by accident that I discovered this swing weight change and was going to replace the racquet altogether but now I have something to work with. I was looking at three strings which appear to fit the bill but maybe you have better idea. They're all cheap which is great.

Pro's Pro Ichiban Spin is supposed to be very similar to PHT. I'm not sure about the weight of it though. Another way to decrease the weight would be to use a higher (thinner) gauge at a higher tension.

Serious :) and I don't. I've never heard of pros pro.

sorry, it was an inside type of joke. See the Prince tour 95 thread in the racquet section.

I've never tried Pro's Pro, but I've read good things and I've read bad things. I can't really help, but I can bump your thread for you....
