Replaced my N 6.1 with two M Fil 2006's today...

Finally got two new Dunlop M Fil 200 2006 frames in to replace my N 6.1 95 16*18's. Very happy with my decision. I strung up one of them today with Alu Power/ Tonic 16 gut at 56/ 54 pounds. Instantly noticed more feel, control, and touch w the M-fil compared to n 6.1. I added three inches of lead at 6 and 9, a wilson leather grip, and 4 inches of lead under the handle. Balance is around 7.5 pts head light... weight im guessing around 11.8. Spin was excellent, comparable to n 6.1. More flex for sure, power is slighty less than n 6.1 but more precision and feel. Much better on slice bh. Similar on spin serves. I am either going to add a little to the handle and trim some at 3 and 9 or add a good amount to the handle to get it to around 8 or 8.5 head light. My only complaints? Stablity is still not quite N 6.1 like, and a little more frame flutter. All in all though, this will be my dream with a little more tweaking... A slightly lighter, quicker N 6.1 with more flex and feel. All for a great price!!!

You're talking about the M-Fil 200 Plus 2006 right? I play with the regular M-Fil 200 and I've tried the Plus but I like the 18x20 that the regular is. The Plus is a little bit stiffer too. I think you made a good switch though.

jdub486, congratulations on your new replacement.

From my experience, I bought the mfil-200 18x20 as a lower-priced backup to my n6.1 18x20. Your assessment of the dunlop compared to the wilson is similar to what I think between the 18x20 versions. However, I found more precision and stability in the wilson likely due to its stiffer frame or hoop. This provided more consistency for me.

Good luck in fine-tuning your new gear.
