Replacement for Head Radical Trisys 260 MP

I’m looking for some recommendations.

I have a pair of Radical Trisys 260 MP’s that I got new as a junior. Played them for 10+ years and used them a lot (~10 hours a week, hundred+ string jobs). The frames are most definitely “dead”, whatever that means.

I eventually switched to a pair of Head Microgel Radical Pro’s, which I used until recently. The MG Radical was fine but I always felt like it wasn’t the best fit for my game. Balls seemed to fly on me and I didn’t like the height (too high). My misses were almost always long (vs in the net). I never felt consistent but I assumed it was because of playing less than before vs the racket.

Recently, on a whim I gave my old Trisys 260 MP’s a try again, and I loved them.

With the Trisys 260, I have better control, better feel, it feels easier on the arm, and I break strings less often. Power is down but I’m OK with that. And I’m winning more.

But my Trisys 260 MP’s are old and very beat up. So even though I’m going to continue using them, I’m also looking for the best replacement that I can buy new here in Canada.

The Head Pro Tour 2.0 looks interesting but does not appear to be available in Canada.

On paper, the Head 360+ Prestige MP and Yonex VCore Pro 97 HD look like good candidates.

Looking for advice on what to demo that will be the closest to my Trisys 260 MP’s.

Thanks!

I would recommend you add the VCore Pro 97 330 to the demo list. Its been my favourite frame and replaced my radical Zebras MPs. I also have some radical Bumblebees i.e Trysis 260 in good condition if you are interested.

Thanks, will give that one a try too.

I think the VCore pro 97 330 has a 16x19 string pattern, which is the same as my Microgel Radical Pro. Strings only lasted about 8 hours in my MG Radical Pro, and I wonder if it was due to the string pattern.

And thanks for the offer of some Bumblebees. If none of the demos work out I’ll definitely be reaching out!

The Microgel Radical Pro was a 100sq more open pattern. The VCore Pro is a more control orientated 16 X 19. If you do get a chance to hit the VCore Pro string it on the lower end of the range.

Good luck with the search.
