Replacement for Tour 10 Gen 1 MP

My Tour 10's MP are in bad shape and may soon be deceased.
I have been looking for a replacement but found no candidates that I find to be close to its buttery feeling.
So far I have tried

Tour 10 V-Engine 98 (bit stiff)
Tour 10 Gen II MP (felt heavier and not as smooth may be dye to stiffer upper hoop)
Cat 10 (nice buit hated the cat system as it was to string sensitive)
Volkl cat V1, and DNX V1 (too light)
Wilson n-six one 95 (close but not as smooth)
Wilson n-code n-tour (too light)
Prince O3 red, white and Tour (best was the white but too light)
Babolat Pure Control (was just OK, dont quite like the babs)
Head Flexpoint radical and radical Tour and other liquid metal radical versions (perhaps the tour was the best, may be a choice)
Fischer Tour Tour Extreme FT (no power)
None filled the mark.

I have not tried

DNX 10
Volkl C10 Pro
Fischer Pro 1
Fischer M Speed Pro 1
Dunlop M-Fil 200
Head Flexpoint Prestige

Any recommendations?
I can not play test. In order to test, I will have to buy first and then sell it if I didn't like it.
Your knowledgeable feedback will be much appreciated.

The c10 pro is probably your best choice because you are used tothe volkl grip shapes and the specs are not too far off from each other. The c10 pro was more of an all round racquet and the tour 10 gen II was a net rushers dream.

The fischer pro 1 or mspeed 1 is a good option because its good a good flex and feel while not being too heavy. Those two will be the top on my list. i would stay away from the wilsons.

C10 is a good choice in terms of weight & balance but it has a flexy hoop that you'll either love or hate... I personally love it because it makes it unbelievable on touch volleys. However, I tend to hit a bit higher than center, and the C10 robs some of my hard-earned, rehabbed, torn-rotator cuff zip... If you're strong and healthy, give 'er a go!!!

Agree w/ Louis. But the very flexy upper-hoop of the C-10 occasionally drove me nuts! I'd give the Gen II another look. Felt heavier? Hard to believe w/ its very headlight balance. And it's upper-hoop is "stiff" ONLY in comparison to the aforementioned C-10.

i dont agree here, i play tour 10 couple of years now, i have c10 pro too and u cant compare it, c10 has a whole other frame and you can feel that. but thats just my opinion. of all volkls i have tested tour 10 is the best.

I agree that of all Vokls, the Tour 10 Gen I felt the best.
For some reason, the Tour 10 Gen II, due to weight distribution, felt heavier to me, pehaps just different.
Flexible upper hoops are indeed a love hate relationship and the C10 seems to be the case.
I may just try it, may be just a used one.

Any thoughts on the Fischer M-Speed Pro.

I will have a look at the pretige classic 600.

I like to keep the static weight in the 11.5 - 12oz and 5 to 5 points HL

Thanks to all of you

I too dont thnk the c10 makes a good replacemnt for the t10mpGen1. I played the Gen1 for 3 years or so, and I switched to the DNX9. It swings lighter, but that was what i needed. perhaps the Yonex Ti-80 may make a good choice for you but i've never had the chance to hit that frame. I suggest you put the specs you desire into the TW racquetFinder and see what it spits out

the one thing that i preferred with the t10gen1 mp was the stiffer upper hoop compared to the c10 pro. i can't really say much for the mspeed, but the pro1 isn't a bad substitute since it's got a nice solid feel while swinging at around the same swingweight as the t10gen1. i just bought a couple of flexpoint prestige mp's and they have this 'airy' swing to it that is a bit different to the t10gen1's. as for the prestige classic 600, that is my current stick and it takes a bit more effort on the user side since it has a heftier feel than the t10gen1's.

just out of curiousity, there always seems to be a few t10gen1 mp's floating around the big auction site so i assume you can always find some there. have you checked that place out?

What do YOU think comes closer to the T10 Gen I in the Volkl line?

I can see that none of the rackets you have tried would replace the Tour 10. I don't think that the C 10 would be the way to go. I can see why NBMJ suggests the Ti 80. I have tried the O3 Tour with the vibration dampener removed and some lead at 3 and 9 or 2 and 10. That set up gives that racket quite a classy feel. Obviously, as others have suggested, the Prestige Classic has a classy feel as well, but is off your spec. Likewise the TFight 325. The Pure Drive Roddick has a better feel than other Babolats, but wouldn't get you close to the T 10. The LM Prestige MP is maligned, and the feel is different to the Tour 10, but is a good stick to hit with from the baseline (as is the LM Prestige Mid).

Overall, if you still have access to the O3 Tour I'd try to customize that a little. You could get something quite close to what you want.

Thank you guys.
I bought 2 sticks from the big auction site. I presently have 4, but they are used constantly and they are paying the price of being played constantly.
As I can't get hold of replacement gromments that regularly (i live in Panama), my grommets are worn and the frame has got thinner in those areas. I don't throw racquets nor abuse them but in the effort to get a ball, I scratch the racquet against the hard surface, with time they will weaken in those areas and probably will crack. The soldiers will die in battle for having serve their king .... long live the king ... and his court !!!!!! clay, hard or grass, a small sample of real life drama. Battles, personalities, frustration, laughter, effort, endurance, tactics, strategy, pasion, what else can you ask for.

I will look again to see if I find some other frames there.
As the stick is out of production, I would like to find an updated replacement just in case.
The M Speed Pro 1 sounds like a good choice.

NBMJ: do you think the DNX 9 is a good choice and why
I have considered the Yonex Ti-80, but read comments that it feels metallic.
I didn't like the Tour 1 for that reason ... is the Ti-80 better than the Tour 1?

Thanks again

Hi there..the DNX9 was a good choice for me as I had the bumpers trimmed on my T10's to make them swing faster for me. The swingweight on them is about 315 and about 310-312 on the DNX9. I dont think the two frames feel alike, but the power levels are similar, but i seem to get a more precise feel from the DNX9 even though it feels soft. The T10's always kind of gave me that loosey goosey feel if you know what i mean.
I think you can still find grommets here at TW for the T10, and I have 4 of these frames..one is virtually brand new, one is a prototype, and the other 2 are in decent shape. drop your email addy in this thread if you are interested

NBM -- If you've commented before on this, I missed it. But what are/were your impressions of the Tour10 Gen II. To me, trimming the bumpers to make your Gen I swing faster kinda-sorta turns it into a Gen II, whose swingweight I believe is about 315. As I mentioned earlier, I find it plays a bit faster than the C-10, though w/ a slightly stiffer upper hoop.

And, switching gears, am I the only guy who's gonna wait til June to buy a DNX 9 from TW?

That was my goal...to get the Gen1 to swing like the Gen2. It ended up being a bit firmer gen2 with a lot more of the juice and a similar balance to the Gen2. I think the Gen2 is great if you are a power factory and can produce as much as you want...it just didnt give me enough work for playing on the dirt.
