Peak Federer would have won FO2014. Rafa was not even a shadow of himself plus he had back issues in that final.

Nadal was obviously in decline in 2014, but not a 'shadow of himself'....that Nadal you're referring to is of 2015/16.

So much disrespect for the peoples champion, aka Stan the Man
There is no disrespect to Stan, love the guy and sure hope he makes it 3 out of 3 tomorrow, but let's face it, he is 3-18 H2H vs Federer & 3-15 vs Nadal & 4-15 vs Djoker. He is clearly not in their league.....Roddick & Hewitt's league, yes.

You have to measure from 2014 onwards for Stan. Since then, he's been every bit their equal in the slams (and better than Fed and Rafa measured on results). 2-1 vs. Djoko in slams in this period, 1-0 vs. Rafa, 1-2 vs. Fed iirc.

I would actually say from 2013. His epics with Djokovic that year were represented his breakthrough.

Are you serious? Do you realise Nadal & Federer were well past their peak from 2014?

Stan ---IS--- in their league, since he beat them twice in a slam final.

There is - read my lips - no higher league.

When you realize your potential- and only realize what your potential is- at age 28, then Stan's achievements may be even more impressive than those of the multi-as-in-10+ winners.

In which case, Safin is also in their league, because he too upstaged Sampras & Federer to win his 2 slams.

Nice joke thread.

Its not really a given he comes out on top of peak stan, or peak cilic, or declinadal on clay.
Lendled Murray also straightsetted fed.

Lol.

Safin and delpo beat peak fed in very close matches and any of the above could do the same, even if fed was the better player overall.

Stan is more than a year OLDER than Nadal, and Djokovic, smack in his prime, and with Safin and Federer/Sampras this was not the case, but regarding peak performance Safin can certainly be considered "in their league".

So it sorta hinges on the precise definition and context of In Their League, but recently, as a #3 in the world Stan is in their league. If you apply it to the entire pro career Stan is not in their league, obviously.

If we are only talking about peak performance Stan, then I can see your point, although I can't fathom him going toe to toe with peak Fedal, perhaps grabbing the odd victory over them (1:4 or so), yes.

Lol saby.

Guy here thinks fed will win 10 slams in a row. Utter joke isnt it? Even if he is facing murray 10 times in finals i expect murray to win once or twice.
I don't expect Murray to win at all.

Not in slams.

He would win the odd match here and there like he has done agsinst Nole the past 2 years, but not a single one of those matches would be in a slam.

Best of 5 would be too much for Murray.

Why not? How do you come to this conclusion.

There is no way murray doesn't find a way to sneak a win here and there over 10 meetings. He's found ways of beating Nadal and Djokovic multiple times in slams.

Because even now Fed gets him in the slams, when he is not at the same level he used to be.

Murray simply does not have that extra gear Fed had in big matches, as we have just witnessed against Nishikori.

Let's see if Murray beats Djokovic first. He hasn't done that in a while.

Okay fair enough. I agree somewhat. But saying Fed would win 3 CYGS in row in 2014-2016 is ridiculous. Atleast your not saying it.

How does Djokovic lose to a tired Safin at his best slam?? LOL
You have a point! Apologies, I forgot Safin had some massive battles at AO'04: 5 setters vs Martin, Blake (4 tight sets), A-Rod & Agassi. Yeah Djoko most likely takes this one.

I do. If Stan's best is good enough to equal Djoko at the slams, he surely can give Fed a fight too. And yet you have Rafa of 2014 winning over Fed from 2004-2007... smh.
I would actually say from 2013. His epics with Djokovic that year were represented his breakthrough.
True, but it wasn't until 2014 that he started winning vs. the Big 3.

'Cause Murray is a current day Hewitt or Roddick?

In slams he isn't touching Federer, and you'd be a complete fool to suggest he would. Djokovic and Nadal, yes, but Murray?!?! LOL. No.
