Replacing Head Graphite Edge

This summer I started playing again regularly after 20 years off. I've been using the Head Graphite Edge, the racquet I grew up with, and have decided to start demoing some racquets. I live in a small town and will have to demo via mail and was looking for some suggestions. So far, I've decided on the LM Prestige Mid and the Slazenger Pro X1. I don't want to go over 95 inches and am a 4.0-4.5 player with a backcourt game but am trying to be more of an all-court player these days. I'm looking for a more solid feel and a little larger sweetspot, but nothing too powerful. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Wilson Pro Staff 6.0/95 would be good (I used to use the Head edge, too). Consider Volkl C-10 as well.

how old are you? not meaning to offend if you take any.

RDX 500 Mid. If the RDX 500 mid was a person, it would be my "home dog".

I'm 36, no offense taken.
then your health will be fine if you use an RDX 500 Mp or even a Mid. never but without trying though. you may also want to look at the N6.1 95/ntour. i don't reccomend new heads though. didn't like the feel of it. might be the intellifibers but i really can't tell you without doing research and i really can't do the experiments now. Try the Prince Graphite Classic aka POG or any of the ones i suggested. for someone who once used an older player's racquet, this stuff might remind you of the old feel.

I've been using the Graphite Edge for the past 3 years. Love it.

The POG is much, much stiffer and much less 'sweet' than the Graphite Edge. Not even close.

If you must switch to another frame (and you really don't have to, you know), the Head Prestige Classic Mid (or Prestige Tour Mid, or Classic Mid) - the all red ones - is the next natural step. Of course, they are all discontinued - but can still be found.

Also there is the Head Pro Tour 280, and Radical Tour - both in the 630 sq. cm. size.

The Fischer Vacuum Pro 90, as well.

Of the current crop, the Volkl Catapult 10 has a great 'old time' feel to it - but you'll need to add weight, as it is too light. Also, you may want to look at the Volkl Tour 10 Mid, or the Tour 10 'V-Engine' Mid.

Thanks Deuce, I was wonderin' what replaced the Edge, and assumed it was the Prestige. Can you recommend a source for discontinued racquets besides ****?

I'd look seriously at the Pro Kennex Type C. It's in the Heritage series, and I know the Type S is really a solid racket. The Type C is a little heavier, more flexible and smaller (93 sq in). I've yet to play with a Pro K that wasn't a good volleying racket, and solid overall performer.

I have a Pro Kennex C 93 and it's great. I love older flexy graphites - the C has a modern feel but is still nice; can keep up with the newer stuff I think, while retaining a bit of the feel of the past. With natural gut at 55lb it seems to have ample power. (I'm 43yo) Nicer (IMO) than the LM prestige mid, or Ncode 90, much easier than the 6.0 85

There's a site called tennis men ace, but they are not very nice people, and their prices are pretty outrageous. I think Harry Millner www.stringsbyharry.com also has some old models; last I checked he still had a Graphite Pro up on his site.

I think the Edge series was eventually phased out by the Pro (600 sq cm) and Master series (660), but I don't think there was a direct descendent per se.
