Anybody have a gif of the Finger Wag by Rog after winning the 4th set against Cilic today?

180 from the finger wag against Nole in RG2011.

No smiles, all intensity.

I think he can totally return to #1 if Djokovic kinda crashes mentally after this R3 loss. Djokovic could have beaten Federer's straight Final, Semi-Final, Quarter-final record if he kept going a few more tournaments. He'll definitely not get those numbers anymore. Also confidence kinda breaks down.
If that happens (or an injury), I'd bet on Federer taking over #1 rather than Murray.

^^^ I think the above one was after winning the fourth set ? From what I remember, the one after MP looked different.

The ones against Cilic aren't too bad

It's the smugness in the FO one that knocks the doush* scale to 100

*I know how it's spelled, the real word is censored

Stop the finger wagging please. It doesn't look confident nor convincing. Looks like an empty threat. I can understand if you are Serena.

My God, how super-touchy Djoko fans are ! How they totally misinterpret the 2011 finger wag and take it personally. It's almost paranoid. Fedr was not looking at Noel or his camp when he did that. He was looking at his OWN people.

Chico has written an entire chapter in his autobiography about the finger wag and the years of psychiatric treatment he had to undergo to heal the resultant trauma and impairment of various functions.

The finger wag has no hidden meaning. It's just another way to celebrate. I remember people coming up with all sorts of reasons behind it. It's like they have never seen another do it. Bedene did it against Carreno Busta just a couple of months ago at this years FO. Fricking Darcis did it against Delbonis in the 3rd set of their Davis Cup SF, lol...

Nadal does it a lot, Berdych does it, hell, I've even seen Djokovic do it.

You younger fellows who didn't get to see Jimmy Connors play really missed something. Tennis players seemed to have more personality back then. Their games were definitely more varied.

Connors was a classic serve and volleyer in an era of serve and volley. He would no sooner put a serve into play than he was rushing towards the net. In today's era of power baseliners he would probably get passed right, left and centre. ;)

Connors wasn't a serve and volley player, per se. He could do it, and most people did when they played Wimbledon back them. Connors was aggressive, and wasn't afraid of the net. But I think he would describe himself primarily as a baseliner.

Wonder who was the first male in pro sports to go for the opponent/teammate glut grab? You see it in American football, but Laver is a pioneer. Now using the racquet is a slight breach of bun smack protocol. Still, does he get full credit here?

He certainly played that way on grass at least. I watched videos of his finals against McEnroe at Queens and as soon as he served he was rushing towards the net.

I think he gets major credit for using it as a potent weapon, being left handed he is capable of shaking hands while leaving his dominant hand free to deliver the full blow with dexterity and force.
