I think he can totally return to #1 if Djokovic kinda crashes mentally after this R3 loss. Djokovic could have beaten Federer's straight Final, Semi-Final, Quarter-final record if he kept going a few more tournaments. He'll definitely not get those numbers anymore. Also confidence kinda breaks down.
If that happens (or an injury), I'd bet on Federer taking over #1 rather than Murray.
Anybody have a gif of the Finger Wag by Rog after winning the 4th set against Cilic today?
180 from the finger wag against Nole in RG2011.
No smiles, all intensity.
Don't think these two go very well next to each other.

That's right, that was the one that was requested.^^^ I think the above one was after winning the fourth set ? From what I remember, the one after MP looked different.

Disgusting, cant imagine Novak doing that to some younger player
Well Novak is not swiss robot, never was
They all got it from the master.....
Easy for those who lock it up though...Visibly, It takes much more skill with the left hand.
It seems that swiss robot constructors when trying to solve irrepearable BH bug accidentally added a now one- The finger wag.
That one is all wrong.

You younger fellows who didn't get to see Jimmy Connors play really missed something. Tennis players seemed to have more personality back then. Their games were definitely more varied.

Connors wasn't a serve and volley player, per se. He could do it, and most people did when they played Wimbledon back them. Connors was aggressive, and wasn't afraid of the net. But I think he would describe himself primarily as a baseliner.Connors was a classic serve and volleyer in an era of serve and volley. He would no sooner put a serve into play than he was rushing towards the net. In today's era of power baseliners he would probably get passed right, left and centre.
Wonder who was the first male in pro sports to go for the opponent/teammate glut grab? You see it in American football, but Laver is a pioneer. Now using the racquet is a slight breach of bun smack protocol. Still, does he get full credit here?

I think he gets major credit for using it as a potent weapon, being left handed he is capable of shaking hands while leaving his dominant hand free to deliver the full blow with dexterity and force.Wonder who was the first male in pro sports to go for the opponent/teammate glut grab?
