I've been reading around here for a couple months now and finally decided to create an account. I'm starting to get back into playing tennis after taking a break for a few years. But I want to do it right for my arm this time.

I've been looking around and ordered a few demos but the Angell racquets have really grabbed my attention.

Apparently they don't do demos to the US so now I'm asking here if anyone has a resource/knows someone/or is someone I could hit with to try out a few different frames. Mostly interested in the V3 TC 90-97 range, specifically extended length. I'm also wondering about the Tenx frames. I just don't have the disposable income to order a few in the specs I'm interested in unless I know they're what I'm sticking with.

I played my best tennis with a BLX 90 but I've been enjoying the new VCORE 95 and EZONE 98 in my demos.

I'm located in Western NC and I don't mind driving 3 hours if need in order to try these. I can make a day out of it.

If this is the wrong place to post this then please direct me to a better place!

It could be pretty hard I reckon. The best thing would be to find a player or coach in your area who uses or is sponsored by Angell and see if you can drmo there's.

That is a pretty tough ask unless someone on the board lives in driving distance from you and is gracious enough to meet you and have you hit with it for a while. Even then you’re subject to their setup and string which may not be ideal.

@JewingItUp I was in the same situation. Ended up buying some used racquets; still experimenting with my TC100.

Alternate choice is to buy a new TC95 (or any Angell with your spec). If that doesn't work, you can easily sell on the classifieds.

@Crocodile Yeah I've been asking around. No luck yet.

@topspn I would do that if I wasn't wanting to try so many. I might just settle and buy a TC95 with the specs I'm interested in and go up or down from there.

I am mostly interested in the TC90 but definitely want to try up to the 97. And I want extended length but not sure if I want the .25 or the .5... I've never used extended length frames before but I want to take it easy on serving so I feel the extra leverage would help out.

With the extra length maybe try one of the Yonex or Dunlop frame to get an idea if you like it.
As far as the TC frame if you can't find one the next best thing would be to find something close to a 66RA unstrung frame that's a traditional beam. Thinking back one racquet that reminds me of a smaller head Angell is the Gamma Tour 340X.

Sounds like a lot of trouble....Why not stick with Yonex or Volkl? They have plenty of arm friendly options. You can easily demo anything you want. Chasing unicorns always costs more money.

@Crocodile I forgot the CX comes in an extended lenght. I'll have to order that demo with the next batch. I'm also interested in the CV 3.0 F Tour.

@Rusbus I have been demoing the EZONE 98 and VCORE 95. I think I would have to modify the EZONE quite a bit to get the feel and weight how I like it. But that's certainly an option, I'm ordering the extended length with my next set of demos. However, it doesn't provide the soft feeling i like in the PB10 Mid I borrowed. I just don't gel with the VCORE.... much prefer the Volkl. As for the newer Volkls, the only mid option is the v-sense. I'll give it a shot but I feel like extended length might be the move for me. Which is why I'm so interested in the TC90 and 95.

I wish TW still had the Pure Control 95+. I feel like that would be what I am looking for. I loved the PS 95 ltd. but felt it was lacking too much on power. Wonder why they stopped the 95+

You could always go down the middle road between 90 and 95:

Grab the Prince 93p. That's arm friendly as well.

But if you genuinely enjoyed the demos of the VCORE95 and EZONE98, you should stick with those.

It's always extremely hard to find a stick that ticks all (or almost all the boxes you could want in a racquet for you)

@Username_ I actually tried the 93p. I just wasn't a fan. The very round head threw me off. But the demo had those clear strings that look like plastic. My coach growing up loved those

I hit with a Dunlop Black Max for a while yesterday. I swear I play better with those classic frames. I'm now on the hunt for a Max 200g Pro to throw in my bag.

As for my actual match sticks... I ordered a TC90 V3, 330g 12pts, 27.25, A grip. Lets hope this is the one. Gonna order 2 more if I like it enough.

Thanks for the chat fellas

@Username_ How you stringing it? I ordered Tourna BHB Rough and a reel of Forten Nylon. If I don't like the nylon then I'll look for a synthetic. I used to love it though.
